''Vijaya Kuweni'' ( si, විජය කුවේණි, italic=yes) is a 2012 Sri Lankan Sinhala epic biographical history film directed by Sugath Samarakoon and produced by Gayan Ranadheera. It stars Dulani Anuradha and Roger Seneviratne in lead roles along with Cletus Mendis and Buddhadasa Vithanarachchi. Music composed by Nadeeka Guruge. It is the 1162nd Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. The film is about the legends of Ceylon's first king and his yaksha clan queen. The film successfully completed 50 days. The DVD and the screenplay of the film was released in December 2013. Vijithapura ( si, විජිතපුර, translit=Vijitapura; ta, விஜித நகரம், translit=Vijita Nakaram), also known as Vijitha Nagara or Vijithagama, was a fortress–city in ancient Sri Lanka. When Vijaya of Sri Lanka, Vijaya, the first recorded ruler of the country arrived from India, he brought a large retinue of his followers with him. These followers spread throughout the country, and established settlements. Wijeratne Miyuri Samarasinghe (15 March 1939 – 6 February 2021: as si, මියුරි සමරසිංහ), popularly as Miyuri Samarasinghe, was an actress in Sri Lankan cinema, theater and television. Sinhabahu (Sinha = Lion, Bahu = Arm) is a legendary king of ancient India, mentioned in Sri Lankan texts. He was father of Vijaya of Sri Lanka and king of Sinhapura. He was the son of Supadevi, a Vanga Kingdom princess. According to the Mahavamsa's folklore (the chronicled history of Sri Lanka), Sinhabahu's father was a lion and his mother a princess of Vanga, who was kidnapped by the lion. His hands and feet were like a lion's paws. When Sinhabahu was sixteen, he escaped with his mother and sister Sinhasivali, and arrived in the capital of Vanga.
