Vigdis Hårsaker
Vigdis Hårsaker (born July 16, 1981), is a Norwegian handball player, who currently plays club handball for Byåsen IL. She first played handball for Sjetne, but at age 14, she transferred to Byåsen. Except for the year she went to France to study the language (she was on loan by Byåsen), and the two years in which she moved to Larvik HK, Hårsaker has played most of her professional career in Byåsen. Hårsaker debuted on the Norwegian national team in 2000, at age 19. Since then, she has played a total of 130 matches, scoring 334 times., Vigdis Hårsaker National Team Profile. European Women's Handball Championship
The European Women's Handball Championship is the official competition for senior women's national handball teams of Europe, and takes place every two years. In addition to crowning the European champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games and World Championship. The Norway women's national handball team represents Norway at international handball competitions, and is governed by the Norges Håndballforbund (NHF). As of 2022, Norway has been in 24 finals and is regarded as one of the finest women's national handball team ever. Byåsen IL
Byåsen Idrettslag is a multi-sport club from Trondheim, Norway. It has sections for association football (one for elite, one for women's and one for grassroots football), athletics, handball (one for elite and one for grassroots handball), orienteering, Nordic skiing, and cycling. World Women's Handball Championship
The IHF Women's Handball World Championship has been organized by the International Handball Federation since 1957. European teams have won every time except 1995 where South Korea won as the first team outside Europe and 2013 where Brazil won as the first American team. The biggest winners are Russia and Norway with four titles each. Nine teams participated in the first championship, this number has grown in steps to 32 (from 2021). In 1977 a B-tournament was introduced and later in 1986 a C-tournament which served as qualification for the real championship or A-tournament.
