The 2017 Victory Road (aka ''Impact!: Victory Road'') was a special episode of ''Impact Wrestling'' and the tenth edition of Victory Road professional wrestling event produced by the Impact Wrestling promotion, which took place on August 20, 2017 at the Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida and aired on television on September 28, 2017. Four matches were contested at the event including three championship matches. In the main event, Eli Drake defeated Johnny Impact to retain the Global Championship. On the undercard, Trevor Lee successfully defended the X Division Championship against Petey Williams and oVe ( Dave Crist and Jake Crist) defeated The Latin American Xchange (Santana and Ortiz) to capture the World Tag Team Championship. Face (professional Wrestling)
In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy" or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans, and acts as a protagonist to the heels, who are the villainous antagonist or "bad guy" characters. Traditionally, they wrestle within the rules and avoid cheating (in contrast to the villains who use illegal moves and call in additional wrestlers to do their work for them) while behaving positively towards the referee and the audience. Such characters are also referred to as blue-eyes in British wrestling and ''técnicos'' in ''lucha libre''. In professional wrestling, a heel (also known as a ''rudo'' in '' lucha libre'') is a wrestler who portrays a villain, "bad guy", or "rulebreaker", and acts as an antagonist to the faces, who are the heroic protagonist or "good guy" characters. Not everything a heel wrestler does must be villainous: heels need only to be booed or jeered by the audience to be effective characters, although most truly successful heels embrace other aspects of their devious personalities, such as cheating to win or using foreign objects. ''One Night Only'' was a series of professional wrestling events held by Impact Wrestling launched in April 2013. The concept was announced on January 11, 2013 by then-Total Nonstop Action (TNA) President Dixie Carter as a part of a change to their pay-per-view programming. Prior to the change, the company held live pay-per-view events monthly. The Latin American Xchange (LAX) is a professional wrestling stable that has wrestled in various incarnations primarily for Total Nonstop Action / Impact Wrestling and currently in Major League Wrestling (MLW). The group achieved initial success as a stable consisting of Konnan, Hernandez and Homicide. Puerto Rican wrestler Apolo was a brief original member, who was later replaced by Machete.
