Victoria Park Nature Reserve
The Victoria Park Nature Reserve is a protected nature reserve that is located in the Northern Rivers region in the state of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The sub-tropical jungle remnant is located an undulating high rainfall plain near . The red-brown soil is derived from a basaltic flow from the nearby Mount Warning. Of the total land in the reserve, is original rainforest; and the other areas are being re-vegetated. Features and location The reserve is one of a few small nature reserves including the Andrew Johnston Big Scrub, Hayters Hill, Davis Scrub, Boatharbour and Wilsons Peak flora and nature reserves that conserve rainforests typical of the once extensive Big Scrub. The Big Scrub comprised of lowland subtropical rainforest which was largely cleared for agriculture in the late 19th century. Victoria Park is a popular area for picnics and barbecues. Victoria Park, Kitchener
Victoria Park is the oldest park in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, situated downtown. It is the site of numerous events and festivities. A Berlin (Kitchener) map from 1879 has a Town Park, located between Mill Street and Highland Road where Highland Courts and Woodside Parks stand today. It sits on the original Joseph E. Schneider homestead; the municipal government had purchased some acres from the family in 1895 and drained the swamp on the land. The 27 acre purchase was initially opposed by some parties for being too far outside of town. The park opened on 27 August 1896; the lake, bridges and three islands were in place at that time. The Park was named after Queen Victoria ahead of her diamond jubilee on the British throne. The human-made lake is fed by Schneider Creek, surrounds three small islands, and is crossed by multiple bridges. Gqeberha (), formerly Port Elizabeth and colloquially often referred to as P.E., is a major seaport and the most populous city in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is the seat of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality, South Africa's second-largest metropolitan district by area size. Victoria Park is a cricket ground in Whanganui, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand. The ground is located in the park of the same name, on Parsons Street, Whanganui. It houses the headquarters of the Whanganui Cricket Association. There are four cricket pitches and four fields on the ground, and other sporting facilities in the park. A cricket ground was first developed in the park in 1890. The first inter-provincial match held at Victoria Park was between Wanganui and Manawatu in March 1896. The first Hawke Cup match there came in 1947 when Wanganui played Taranaki. The ground later held its first first-class match during the 1990/91 Shell Trophy when Central Districts played Northern Districts. Victoria Park, Auckland
Victoria Park is a park and sports ground in the Auckland city centre, New Zealand. It was opened in 1905 and named after the queen who had died four years earlier. It lies on reclaimed bay land in Freemans Bay, a suburb directly west of the Auckland CBD. However, it does not have direct connection to the foreshore anymore, as the Western Reclamation and the Viaduct Basin quarter lie between it and the Waitematā Harbour. The bay started to be filled in as early as the 1870s although the bulk of the reclamation appears to have happened after 1901. The Park was 'finished' around 1912, the area to the north (called the Western Reclamation) dates from after that. Victoria Park is a public park in the centre of downtown Regina, the capital of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The park is the size of two city blocks, bordered north and south by 12th Avenue and Victoria Avenue, and east and west by Scarth Street and Lorne Street. The centre of the park divides north and southbound Cornwall Street. On the north side of the park is City Square Plaza, a stone paved plaza encompassing part of 12th Avenue and part of the park, used for festivals and the Regina Farmers Market. On the south side of the park is a children's play area in the south-east corner and a memorial of John A. Macdonald (until its removal in 2021) at the south central entrance at Cornwall Street. Parc Victoria is a large urban park in Quebec City, Canada. It is located the Saint-Roch, Quebec City, Saint-Roch neighbourhood, on the south shore of the Saint-Charles River (Quebec City), Saint-Charles River and opened in 1897.
