Victoria Lovelady (born 29 November 1986) is a Brazilian professional golfer. Lovelady qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Early life and amateur golf career Victoria Alimonda, now known as Victoria Lovelady after marriage, began playing golf at the age of 12. She also enjoys playing the guitar, composing music and surfing. The Ladies European Tour is a professional golf tour for women which was founded in 1978. It is based at Buckinghamshire Golf Club near London in England. Like many UK-based sports organisations it is a company limited by guarantee, a legal structure which enables it to focus on maximising returns to its members through prize money, rather than on making profits for investors. The tour is run by a Board of Directors and a Players' Council. Most of the players on the tour are European, with members from more than 40 countries internationally. The tour operates tournaments across five continents. History The U.S.-based LPGA was founded in 1950, but women's professional golf was slower to get established in Europe. The Epson Tour, previously known as the LPGA Futures Tour, and known for sponsorship reasons between 2006 and 2010 as the Duramed Futures Tour and between 2012 and 2021 as the Symetra Tour, is the official developmental golf tour of the LPGA Tour. A person who earns money by teaching or playing golf is traditionally considered a "golf pro," most of whom are teachers/coaches.
