The Victor Valley is a valley in the Mojave Desert and subregion of the Inland Empire, in San Bernardino County in Southern California. It is located east of the Mojave's Antelope Valley, north of the Cajon Pass and the San Bernardino Valley, northeast of the San Gabriel Mountains, and northwest of the San Bernardino Mountains, and south of the Barstow area. Victorville, California
Victorville is a city in Victor Valley in San Bernardino County, California. Its population as of the 2020 census was 134,810. History In 1858, Aaron G. Lane came to what is now known as Victorville and founded a waystation called "Lane's Crossing." For many years it provided shelter and supplies for people journeying across the desert from the east to San Bernardino. Lane's Crossing was on the Mojave River on today's Turner Road, two miles north of where Interstate 15 crosses the river. Lane was a veteran of the Mexican–American War who had had malaria during that war. Originally he migrated west to join the California gold rush, but he learned that he could make a better living selling supplies to the miners. Lane settled in Ione, near Sutter's Mill in northern California, during those years, but migrated to San Bernardino in 1857. Adelanto (Spanish for "Advance") is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. Adelanto High School
Adelanto High School is a comprehensive high school of the Victor Valley Union High School District, in Adelanto, California, in the Inland Empire region. The mascot of the athletic teams is the Saints. History It was the first high school to be built in Adelanto; previously students attended Silverado High School and Victor Valley High School in Victorville. By 2008 area residents wanted a local high school, and the Victorville high schools were above capacity. In November of that year, the majority of the citizens in Adelanto voted in favor of building the school, by approving a $500 million bond. The name of an area youth football league, the Saints, became the high school's mascot. The State of California funded the acquisition of the land, and the bond funded the design of the campus and its construction; the latter two had a cost of $120 million. Silverado High School is a high school in Victorville, California, United States. It is part of the Victor Valley Union High School District. Construction began on Silverado High School in 1996, its first class graduated in 1999. Silverado's primary rival is the cross-town Victor Valley High School Jackrabbits. Victor Valley High School is located in Victorville, California, United States. It is the oldest high school in the Victor Valley Union High School District (VVUHSD). The original campus was located at the former Victor Valley Junior High and University Preparatory School on Forrest Avenue in Old Town Victorville, until the current campus was built in 1952. It was the first of two high schools in Victorville, with the second being Silverado High School, completed in 1996. Visible from the homeside of Ray Moore Stadium is the Victorville "V," which was placed on a hill as a landmark for the original location of the High School on Forrest Ave. Keith Gunn, then high school football coach and later principal, spearheaded the project in the 1930s, with the cement being donated by Southwestern Portland Cement Company.
