Victor Gram
Victor Gram (30 January 1910 – 12 February 1969) was a Danish politician who was a member of the Social Democrats. He was the minister of defence between 1962 and 1968 and a long-term member of the Parliament (1943–1969). Biography Gram was born in Højby on 30 January 1910. At age 16 he became a member of the Social Democratic Youth of Denmark which he headed between 1942 and 1946. Then he joined the Social Democrats and served at the Parliament from 3 April 1943 to 12 February 1969. On 15 November 1962 Gram was appointed minister of defense. He remained in the post until 2 February 1968. The cabinets were headed by Prime Minister Jens Otto Krag. Gram died in Copenhagen on 12 February 1969 and buried in Fredericia Fredericia () is a town located in Fredericia Municipality in the southeastern part of the Jutland peninsula in Denmark. The Minister of Defence of Denmark ( da, Forsvarsminister, ) is the politically appointed head of the Danish Ministry of Defence. The Minister of Defence is responsible for the Danish armed forces, the Danish Defence Intelligence Service and the Danish Emergency Management Agency. The Minister of Defence follows the directions given by the Prime Minister of Denmark and the decisions of the Folketing. Social Democratic Youth Of Denmark
The Social Democratic Youth of Denmark ( da, Danmarks Socialdemokratiske Ungdom, DSU) is the national youth wing of the Danish Social Democrats. It is not to be confused with Frit Forum, which is for those in higher education, and whose membership is not restricted by age, unlike the DSU. The organisation is autonomous from the Social Democrats and as such is entitled to formulate its own policies and devise its own campaigns. The Social Democratic Youth movement was established in 1920 after a break-up of the former youth organisation, the Social Democratic Youth League (', SUF). At first, the organisation was known as the "DsU". The founders of DSU wanted to change the Danish society by gradual reforms and not by revolution. ''Den Store Danske Encyklopædi'' (''The Great Danish Encyclopedia'') is the most comprehensive contemporary Danish language encyclopedia. The Social Democrats ( da, Socialdemokraterne, ) is a social democratic political party in Denmark. A member of the Party of European Socialists (PES), the Social Democrats have 50 out of 179 members of the Danish parliament (following the latest Danish general election held in 2022), Folketing, and three out of fourteen MEPs elected from Denmark. Hans Christian Poul Hansen (27 February 1913 – 13 August 1966), simply known as Poul Hansen, was a Danish politician, who served as Defence Minister of Denmark from 1956 to 1962 and Danish Minister of Finance from 1962 to 1965.
