Vicky Chandhok
Vicky Bharat Chandhok (born 7 April 1957) is an Indian racing driver and motorsport administrator. He was the president of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) from 2003 to 2005 and from 2010 to 2013. During his second stint as the president of the Indian federation, he was associated with bringing the Indian Grand Prix Formula 1 races to India. He also supervised the construction of the F1 track at Buddh International Circuit as a representative of the FIA and Bernie Ecclestone. He was also the consultant for Jaypee Sports International (JPSI), which constructed and owned the F1 track. He is currently a member of the FMSCI Council and a member of the FIA Truck Racing Commission. He is also a multiple Indian rallying champion. He is the son of Indu Chandhok, a founding member of the FMSCI and the Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC), and his son Karun Chandhok is India's second F1 driver. Federation Of Motor Sports Clubs Of India
The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India, abbreviated as FMSCI, is the governing body for motor sports in India and was founded in 1971. It is a long-standing member of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the world bodies for 2/3 and 4 wheeler motor sport respectively. Currently, FMSCI is the only national motor sport federation recognized by the Government of India for promotion and control of motor sport in India, and is affiliated to the Indian Olympic Association. Indian Grand Prix
The Indian Grand Prix was a Formula One race in the calendar of the FIA Formula One World Championship, which was held at the Buddh International Circuit in Sector 25 along Yamuna Expressway in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh State from 2011 until 2013. The first edition took place on 30 October 2011, as the 17th race of the 2011 Formula One season. The inaugural race was won by Germany's Sebastian Vettel. Buddh International Circuit
The Buddh International Circuit ( hi, बुद्ध अंतरराष्ट्रीय परिपथ) is an Indian motor racing circuit situated in National Capital Region at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The track shares its name with Gautama Buddha, as does the district the track is located in. The track was officially inaugurated on 18 October 2011. The long circuit was designed by German racetrack designer Hermann Tilke. The circuit was best known as the venue for the annual Formula One Indian Grand Prix, which was first hosted in October 2011. Bernie Ecclestone
Bernard Charles Ecclestone (born 28 October 1930) is an English business magnate. He is the former chief executive of the Formula One Group, which manages Formula One motor racing and controls the commercial rights to the sport, and part-owns Delta Topco, the previous ultimate parent company of the Formula One Group. As such, he was commonly described in journalism as the 'F1 Supremo'. Ecclestone entered two Grand Prix races as a driver, during the 1958 season, but failed to qualify for either of them. Later he became manager of drivers Stuart Lewis-Evans and Jochen Rindt. In 1972, he bought the Brabham team, which he ran for 15 years. Madras Motor Sports Club is an Indian auto racing club founded in 1952 and based in Chennai, India. Madras Motor Sports Club with its history of over 50 years is the reason that Chennai can be called the epicentre of motor racing in India. Madras Motor Sports Club, located at the village of Irungattukottai near Sriperumbudur, Chennai organises world class racing events every year, including the South India Rally and the All India Motor Race Meet. Karun Chandhok
Karun Chandhok (born 19 January 1984) is an Indian racing driver and television presenter who last competed in Formula E for Mahindra Racing. Previously, Chandhok has competed for Hispania Racing in Formula One in . Before this, he drove in the GP2 Series for three years, winning two races. In 2013, Chandhok competed in the FIA GT Series for Seyffarth Motorsport. Prior to his time in GP2, Chandhok won the Formula Asia championship in 2001 and was the inaugural Formula Asia V6 by Renault champion in 2006. Since leaving F1, Chandhok has served as an analyst, co-commentator and pit-lane reporter for a variety of British broadcasters. Suhail Chandhok is an Indian television presenter and commentator with Star Sports, having presented for various sports such as cricket, hockey, kabaddi and football amongst others. He also made a brief stint as an actor with the Tamil film '' Veeram'' alongside Ajith Kumar. Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) is a rallying series organised by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), which is the Governing Body or ASN of India recognised by FIA culminating with National Champion Driver and Co-Driver.
