Vicious Pink
Vicious Pink is a synth-pop duo formed in Leeds, England in 1981. They reformed for a new album in 2023 and will perform live again in 2024 History With a catchy sound and a penchant for highly provocative and sexualized lyrics, the band's music was aimed toward clubs rather than commercial hits. Vicious Pink consisted of two members, English/ French singer Josephine Warden and keyboardist Brian Moss. The duo began as backing vocalists for Soft Cell, then known as Vicious Pink Phenomena. New Wave Music

"Cccan't You See" is a 1984 single by synth-pop duo Vicious Pink. Released as their third single, it charted at No. 67 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming their only top 75 entry on that chart. Background "Cccan't You See" was Vicious Pink's third single, after "My Private Tokyo" and "Je t'aime (moi non plus)". It was recorded in September 1983 at Buckinghamshire's FarmYard Studios. For this single, the band had acquired a new producer, Tony Mansfield of New Musik; their previous producer, Dave Ball, was also a member of Soft Cell, and left after the release of "Je t'aime" after Soft Cell had an international hit single with " Tainted Love". The single featured Mansfield's Fairlight CMI, which was used to sample Russian choirs from short wave radio in an effort to defuse tensions caused by the Cold War, which was a major issue at the time. "Spooky" is originally an instrumental song performed by saxophonist Mike Sharpe (Shapiro), written by Shapiro and Harry Middlebrooks Jr, which first charted in 1967 hitting No. 57 on the US pop charts. Its best-known version was created by James Cobb and producer Buddy Buie for the group Classics IV when they added lyrics about a "spooky little girl". The vocalist was Dennis Yost. The song is noted for its eerie whistling sound effect depicting the spooky little girl. It has become a Halloween favorite. Buddy Buie
Perry Carlton "Buddy" Buie (January 23, 1941 – July 18, 2015) was an American songwriter, producer and publisher. He is most commonly associated with Roy Orbison, the Classics IV and the Atlanta Rhythm Section. Career Buie was born in Marianna, Florida and raised in Dothan, Alabama. He was at high school with Bobby Goldsboro and managed his band The Webbs. He introduced The Webbs to Roy Orbison in a show Buie organized and they became their backup band for two-and-a-half years. He was best known as a prolific songwriter, with 340 songs registered in the BMI catalog. His first success came in 1964 when Tommy Roe took "Party Girl", which Buie co-wrote with Billy Gilmore, into the '' Billboard'' Hot 100. Otis Blackwell (February 16, 1931 – May 6, 2002) was an American songwriter whose work influenced rock and roll. His compositions include "Fever" (recorded by Little Willie John), "Great Balls of Fire" and " Breathless" (recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis), "Don't Be Cruel", " All Shook Up" and " Return to Sender" (with Winfield Scott; recorded by Elvis Presley), and " Handy Man" (recorded by Jimmy Jones).
