Vicente Salgado Y Garrucho
Vicente Salgado y Garrucho (born 20 April 1936 Manila – 9 April 2005) was a Filipino Roman Catholic bishop and the second Bishop of Romblon succeeding His Most Reverend Nicolas M. Mondejar in 1988. Life Vicente Salgado y Garrucho received on 23 December 1961, the priestly ordination. On 30 May 1988, he was appointed by Pope John Paul II Bishop of Romblon. The Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, Bruno Torpigliani, consecrated him on 25 July of the same year. Co-consecrators were Alberto Jover Piamonte, archbishop of Jaro and Antonio Yapsutco Fortich, Bishop of Bacolod. Narciso Abellana y Villaver, M.S.C. (born 11 November 1953) is a Filipino Roman Catholic bishop and the current and fifth Bishop of Romblon. Ordained to the priesthood on 28 December 1978, Villaver Abellana was named bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Romblon, Philippines on 15 October 2013. Life Abellana was born in the city of Talisay, Cebu. He was ordained priest on the 28th of December 1978. He was appointed Bishop of Romblon on 15 October 2013. Jaro, Iloilo City
Jaro (; ) is a district of Iloilo City in the Philippine province of Iloilo on Panay Island in the Western Visayas region. It is the largest in terms of area and population of Iloilo City's seven districts, with 130,700 people in the 2020 census. Once a separate city, Jaro merged with Iloilo City when it was re-incorporated in the 1940s during the American administration in the Philippines. Jaro is the largest of all the seven districts comprising the City of Iloilo. Bruno Torpigliani (15 April 1915 – 2 May 1995) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He was made an archbishop in 1964 and served as Apostolic Nuncio to several countries, including the Philippines for 17 years. Biography Bruno Torpigliani was born in the town of Montecontieri outside Asciano, Italy, on 15 April 1915 to Francesco Torpigliani and Laura Landi.
