Francesc Vicent
Francesc Vicent (1450 in Segorbe – c. 1512) was a Spanish author who wrote the first treatise about chess using the present-day moves for the queen and the bishop. ''Libre dels jochs partits dels schacs en nombre de 100'' was printed in Valencia on May 15, 1495, by Lope de Roca Alemany and Pere Trincher. No copy of this work has survived. It is assumed that the book contained 100 endgames. It is believed that there was a copy in the library of Santa Maria de Montserrat, but this was destroyed by the occupying French forces in 1811 during the Peninsular War. Vicent is considered the founder of modern chess. As his work spread throughout Europe, the innovation of the queen's change in movement making it the most powerful chess piece appeared for the first time in the poem ''Scachs d'amor'' (1475) written by Bernat Fenollar, Narcís Vinyoles and Franci de Castellví. Francesc Vicent Garcia () i Ferrandis was an early modern Catalan poet known by the pseudonym of the ''Vallfogona Rector''. He was born in Zaragoza in 1579Although his father was born in Tortosa, in Catalonia. and died in Vallfogona de Riucorb (Conca de Barberà) in 1623. In 1605 he was ordained in Vic. Early life Vicent Garcia completed his religious studies in Barcelona. In Vic, where he was ordained, he was the secretary to Bishop Francis Robust. In 1607, Garcia was appointed to the Vallfogona Riucorb rectory, where he remained until 1621. This spell at Vallfogona was followed by appointment to the post of secretary of the Bishop of Girona, Peter Moncada. A year after taking up this post, Garcia obtained a doctorate in theology from the College of St. George and St. Matthias in Tortosa. Vallfogona Riucorb died on September 2, 1623. Vicent Partal (; born 1960 in Bétera, Valencia) is a Valencian journalist and director of VilaWeb. He has also worked in El Temps, Diari de Barcelona, TVE, Catalunya Ràdio, El Punt, and La Vanguardia, among others. He is considered an Internet pioneer. In 1994, he created the self-styled "first news Internet system in Catalonia" named ''El Temps Online''. In 1995, founded ''Partal, Maresma & Associats'', a company devoted to Internet Consulting and access. From that initiative, ''La Infopista catalana'' appeared in 1996, which later became VilaWeb. Vicent Peris
(1478–1522) (in Catalan; es, italic=no, Vicente Peris) was a weaver and leader of the weavers' guild () in Valencia. He came to prominence as the most influential leader of the Council of Thirteen after the death of Joan Llorenç in the Revolt of the Brotherhoods. Peris saw the revolution as a wider social revolution against the nobility, and aggressively attacked them. He also legitimized the anti-Muslim stance of many rebels into the ''Germanies'' government, and intensified their repression. Leadership in the Revolt Peris was born in Segorbe. He was a member of the Council of Thirteen which came to contest the royal government's rule of Valencia in 1519. In 1520, the situation worsened with the appointment of Castilian Viceroy Diego Hurtado de Mendoza.
