The vice presidents of Honduras, also known as presidential designates, officially the designates to the presidency ( es, designados a la presidencia) is the second highest political position in Honduras. According to the current constitution, the president and vice-presidents are elected in the same ticket. From 1957 to 2006 and from 2010 onwards there are positions of first, second, and third vice-president commonly known as ''designados presidenciales'', literally "presidential designates". Only during the Zelaya administration the vice-presidential position was held by one person, since the Congress reformed the Constitution in 2008 for that the vice-presidential charge would be held again by three persons. The position of vice president commissioner was created by former President Manuel Zelaya after Vice President Elvin Santos resigned in late 2008. The coat of arms of Honduras is a national emblem of the Republic of Honduras. Official description Honduran law describes the coat of arms as follows: ''The Arms to be used are an equilateral triangle. In its base there is a volcano between two castles, over them a rainbow, and below it, behind the volcano, raises a sun spreading light. The triangle is settled on a terrain bathed by both seas. Around it, an oval containing the golden letters: REPÚBLICA DE HONDURAS LIBRE, SOBERANA, INDEPENDIENTE. – 15 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 1821. Florencio Xatruch
Florencio Xatruch (October 21, 1811 – February 15, 1893) was a general who led the Honduran expeditionary force against William Walker in Nicaragua in 1856. Life Florencio Xatruch was born in San Antonio de Oriente, Honduras. His father, Ramón Xatruch, was of Catalan background, and his mother, Eugenia Villagra, was part of Choluteca's upper class, and whose family owned mines. In 1824, Xatruch was sent to León, Nicaragua to continue with his studies. Military career In 1826, as he returned to Honduras, he joined the armed forces of Domingo Sarmiento and Santos Sánchez, who were against the government of Diego Vigil. He then participated in Francisco Morazán's armed forces, on March 14, 1832, along with his friend José Santos Guardiola, in the war in Jocoro, El Salvador. José María Medina
José María Medina Castejón (8 September 1826 – 1878) served as the President of Honduras three times during the 1860s and 1870s. Medina was born in Sensenti. While his father is not known, his mother's name was Antonia Medina Castejón. Military service At the age of 18 Medina joined the Honduran army, and in the same year of 1844 fought in Nicaragua as a junior officer against William Walker's attempts to conquer Central America. In 1850 José was appointed the Commander of Arms in Omoa. He assisted General Juan López's rebellion against General Cabañas Fiallos in 1855 and in the same year was defeated by General Mariano Álvarez at Siguatepeque. He served as an Official member of the Central American Joint Chiefs of Staff from July 1856 to May 1857. Presidency His first term in office was served as a temporary Acting President between 1 September and 31 December 1863. Medina was then elected President in 1864.

Victoriano Castellanos Cortes (1795–1862) was President of Honduras from 4 February 1862 to 4 December 1862. Biography Victoriano Castellanos Corte was born in Santa Rosa de Copan on 23 March 1795. He was educated by the Catholic parish priest Pedro Antonio Pineda, and worked as a miner before becoming a politician. On 3 February 1860, he was elected Vice President of Honduras, the president being the General Jose Santos Guardiola, who was killed in Comayagua on 11 January 1862 by his own Presidential Guard. Mr. Victoriano became the provisional president of the nation on February 4 of that year, in the town of Guarita, today part of the Department of Lempira. José Trinidad Cabañas
José Trinidad Cabañas Fiallos (9 June 1805– 8 January 1871) was a liberal Honduran military general and politician who served as President of Honduras on two separate occasions: From 1 March to 6 July 1852.
