Vic Harris (outfielder)
Elander Victor Harris (June 10, 1905 – February 23, 1978) was an American professional baseball outfielder and manager in the Negro leagues. Listed at , 168 lb., Harris batted left-handed and threw right-handed. Nicknamed "Vicious Vic", he was noted as one of the toughest players of his era in black baseball; Harris managed the Grays to first place in the Negro National League eight times (most for any manager in the Negro leagues) along with a Negro World Series title while being named to the East–West All-Star Game seven times. In eleven seasons as manager, he never had a losing season. Career A native of Pensacola, Florida, Harris was the brother of fellow Negro leaguer Neal Harris. Vic Harris (snooker Player)
Vic Harris (16 August 1945 – 10 March 2015) was an English snooker player who was born in Westcliffe-on-Sea, Essex, and turned professional in 1981. He identified Steve Davis as a future world champion at the age of 12, and was the first to spot the talent of Tony Drago when Drago won the Maltese amateur title in 1984. Harris competed in the professional UK Championship in 1981, 1982, and 1987. He won the English Amateur Championship in 1981. The Vic Harris Snooker League in Essex is named after him. Harris was interviewed by the BBC during the 2013 World Snooker Championship. He said he had his right ear removed due to cancer, but continued to play regularly in Essex. Harris talked about his role in helping to develop the games of Steve Davis and Stuart Bingham. Death and tributes Harris died on 10 March 2015, aged 69, following a long battle with cancer. Victor Lanier Harris (born March 27, 1950) is an American former professional baseball utility player. He played in Major League Baseball from 1972 through 1980 for the Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants and Milwaukee Brewers. Professional career Early career Harris was drafted in the first round of the secondary phase of the 1970 Major League Baseball Draft by the Oakland Athletics. In July 1972 he was traded to the Texas Rangers, and made his major league debut for them the following day. He spent the rest of the season as the Rangers' regular second baseman, replacing Lenny Randle. Harris went his first 35 at-bats without a base hit, the major league record for most consecutive at-bats at the beginning of a career by a position player without a base hit. Macho Harris
Victor "Macho" Harris, Jr. (born February 16, 1986) is a former Canadian football defensive back. He recently played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Virginia Tech and was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Harris went on to play for the Washington Redskins and the Pittsburgh Steelers before signing with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on April 18, 2012. Early years Victor "Macho" Harris earned All-District, All-Region, All-Metro, All-State, Parade All-American, and U.S Army All-American Honors while playing Running Back, Kick Returner, Punt Returner, and Safety at Highland Springs High School in Highland Springs, Virginia.
