Vic Bulgin
Victor John Bulgin (8 November 1927 – 19 January 2007) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s and 50s. An Australia national and New South Wales state representative , he played for Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and Canterbury-Bankstown clubs. Bulgin also represented his country as an amateur golfer. Rugby League career Bulgin, a fullback, began his career with the Eastern Suburbs club as a 19-year-old in 1947. The following year he was selected for the New South Wales team's tour of New Zealand and later that year was selected to go on the 1948–49 Kangaroo Tour, becoming Kangaroo No 254. He appeared in 16 matches on tour, – no tests. In 1949 Bulgin again went away with the Australian rugby league team on its tour of New Zealand, once again though he never played in any of the test matches. Australian Men's Interstate Teams Matches
The Australian Men's Interstate Teams Matches were an amateur team golf competition for men between the states and territories of Australia. The event started in 1904 when New South Wales played Victoria. Until World War II the event was played as part of the championship meeting which included the Australian Amateur. It was not until 1947 that all six states, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia, contested the event together. Northern Territory first played in 2015 increasing the number of teams to seven. The final format was a round-robin tournament, each team playing the other six teams, after which the top two teams play a final. Each team consisted of eight players. Seven competed in each round-robin match with all eight playing in the final. Only singles matches were played. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Captains
Canterbury-Bankstown is a customary region of Sydney, Australia, in the south-western suburbs. The area is located around the Bankstown railway line, to the west of the St George region and to the south of the Inner West region. Wetherill Park is a suburb in Greater Western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Wetherill Park is located 34 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Fairfield. Albert George Henry Why, known by the alias Alby Carr, (1899–1969) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s player for South Sydney Rabbitohs, South Sydney, who played under his alias for most of his career. Playing career He was born at Brewarrina, New South Wales, Brewarrina in 1899. His family later moved to Redfern, New South Wales, Redfern and he played his junior football in Wellington and later at Mascot.
