Viborg Amt () is a former county (Danish: ''amt'') in the north-central part of the Jutland peninsula in western Denmark. The county was abolished on 1 January 2007, when most of it merged into Region Midtjylland (i.e. ''Region Central Jutland''). Viborg Municipality
Viborg municipality is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Midtjylland on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 1,421.04 km2, and has a population of 94,622 (1 April 2014). Søren Pape Poulsen was chosen as mayor again for a second term of office 2014–17, but before the first year of his second term had passed, he accepted an offer to become chairman of his party, and a new mayor had to be chosen among the municipal council members. Its mayor from 3 September 2014 is Torsten Nielsen, also a member of the Conservative People's Party. He is mayor in the rest of the 2014-17 term of office. Thisted Municipality
Thisted municipality is a municipality (Danish: '' kommune'') in North Jutland Region, Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 1,072 km², and has a total population of 45,549 (2008). The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Thisted. Skive Municipality
Skive Municipality is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Mid Jutland Region on Salling Peninsula, a part of the larger Jutland Peninsula in northwest Denmark. It covers an area of 688.09 km2 (2013) and has a population of 46,938 (1 April 2014). Its mayor is Peder Christian Kirkegaard, a member of the Venstre political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the city of Skive. The Virksund Bridge (''Virksundbroen'') connects the municipality at the town of Virksund to the town of Sundstrup in Viborg municipality. As of January 1, 2007, the original Skive municipality ceased to exist as a result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007). Sallingsund Municipality
Until 1 January 2007 Sallingsund municipality was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the former Viborg County in the northwest of the Salling Peninsula, a part of the larger Jutland peninsula in northwest Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 99 km², and had a total population of 6,083 (2005). Its last mayor was Jens Jørn Justesen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Roslev. The 1,717 meter long Sallingsund Bridge, which opened on 30 May 1978, connects the towns of Sallingsund to the town of Nykøbing Mors on the island of Mors, and then continues northwest to the island of Vendsyssel-Thy. Morsø Municipality
Morsø is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Nordjylland in northern Denmark. The municipality is located on the island of Morsø or Mors, an island in the Limfjord, the sound that separates the island of Vendsyssel-Thy from the rest of Jutland Peninsula.
