Vibe (TV Series)
''Vibe'' was a Broadcast syndication, syndicated American late-night talk show that was spun off from the VIBE, magazine of the same name. Premiering in August 1997, it was produced by Quincy Jones and hosted by Chris Spencer (actor), Chris Spencer, and featured a brief appearance by President Bill Clinton on its first episode. Like ''The Arsenio Hall Show'' of the early 1990s, it attracted young, urban audiences. Spencer was fired in October of that year and replaced by comedian Sinbad (actor), Sinbad, along with Big Boy (radio host), Big Boy as the in-house announcer. The show would only last until the summer of 1998 when it was cancelled. The show was taped from CBS Television City in Los Angeles. Quincy Jones
Quincy Delight Jones Jr. (born March 14, 1933) is an American record producer, musician, songwriter, composer, arranger, and film and television producer. His career spans 70 years in the entertainment industry with a record of 80 Grammy Award nominations, 28 Grammys, and a Grammy Legend Award in 1992. Jones came to prominence in the 1950s as a jazz arranger and conductor before working on pop music and film scores. He moved easily between musical genres, producing pop hit records for Lesley Gore in the early 1960s (including " It's My Party") and serving as an arranger and conductor for several collaborations between the jazz artists Frank Sinatra and Count Basie in the same time period. In 1968, Jones became the first African American to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "The Eyes of Love" from the film '' Banning''. Big Boy (born Kurt Alexander; September 8, 1969) is a nationally syndicated American radio host and actor. From 1997 he has hosted the morning show at Los Angeles Rhythmic contemporary station KPWR (Power 106) until his move in February 2015 to KRRL (Real 92.3). His stage name derives from his formerly large build, which he modified through duodenal switch surgery in 2003, leading to a nearly fatal weight loss of over 250 pounds.
