Vetri (film)
''Vetri'' () is a 1984 Indian Tamil-language action crime film directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar. Vijayakanth plays the lead role. The music was composed by Shankar–Ganesh. S. A. Chandrasekhar's son Vijay also plays a cameo role as a child artist, making it his first ever on-screen performance. The film was a remake of the director's own 1983 Kannada film ''Geluvu Nannade'' which he also later remade in Telugu as '' Devanthakudu'' (1984). Plot A student, Vijay (Vijayakanth), loves challenges and goes to any limit to win them. With an agreement with Arun, he captures Shanti (Viji) in a guest house for three days. Arun (Raja) is expelled from college by Professor Ramanajam (Venniradai Moorthy). Lalitha (Vijayalakshmi) goes to the teacher's house and gets raped, then commits suicide. Narayanan Vijayaraj Alagarswami (born 25 August 1952), better known by his stage name Vijayakanth, is an Indian politician and former actor who has worked predominantly in Tamil cinema. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Before entering politics Vijayakanth was a successful actor, producer and director. Vijayakanth is also the current DMDK chairman of Tamil Nadu legislative assembly. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child. Even though he was a Malayali, as was the case with the majority of contemporary South Indian migrants to Malaya then, his surroundings in Malaysia was dominated by the Tamil language and culture. Viji was an Indian actress, who appeared in Tamil films. She made her debut in '' Kozhi Koovuthu'' and acted in over 40 films. Biography Viji made her debut in Gangai Amaren's '' Kozhi Koovuthu''. It went on to become a super hit and she was often referred to as 'Kozhi Koovuthu' Viji after the film.
