Royal Trux
Royal Trux was an American alternative rock band active from 1987 to 2001, reuniting in 2015 but disbanded once again in 2019. It was founded by Neil Hagerty (vocals, guitar) and Jennifer Herrema (vocals). History While still a teenager, Hagerty joined Washington D.C. garage punk band Pussy Galore, led by Jon Spencer, and subsequently relocated to New York. During his time in there, Hagerty convinced his bandmates to release a cassette-only remake of the entire Rolling Stones album ''Exile on Main Street''. While he gained underground notoriety for his work with Pussy Galore, Hagerty reportedly viewed it as a job and intended to pursue his own artistic vision with his girlfriend, Jennifer Herrema, under the name Royal Trux. ''Q'' was a popular music magazine published monthly in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1986 by broadcast journalists Mark Ellen and David Hepworth, who were presenters of the BBC television music series ''The Old Grey Whistle Test''. Jennifer Herrema
Jennifer James Herrema is an American rock music singer-songwriter, record producer, artist, and model best known for her work as one half of the rock band Royal Trux. Career Herrema formed Royal Trux with her partner Neil Hagerty and lived with him in Washington, Virginia. After producing several records, the band split in 2001. Herrema then went on to form a new band, RTX, which eventually became the band Black Bananas. She has produced and mixed records with other artists including Bad Wizard. She has published numerous articles on music, art, fashion, and lifestyle subjects in various publications including '' Vice Magazine''. In 2016, she appeared on The Avalanches' album '' Wildflower'' on the song "Stepkids". Neil Hagerty
Neil Michael Hagerty (born 1965) is an American guitarist, songwriter and producer. He is best known for his work in Royal Trux which he formed with his partner Jennifer Herrema, who he lived with in Washington, Virginia. Hagerty released several solo albums since Royal Trux's demise in 2001, followed by recordings under the moniker The Howling Hex. He also performed as a guitarist and songwriter in Pussy Galore and Weird War. Hagerty is the author of two books, ''Victory Chimp'' (1997), a science fiction novel, and ''Public Works'' (2005), a collection of short essays.
