Veterans Outer Loop is a major bypass route in Glasgow, Kentucky. It is maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC). Route description With a state route designation of Kentucky Route 3600 (KY 3600), the road begins at an intersection with KY 1297 (Old Bowling Green Road) near the exit 8 interchange of the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway before meeting the concurrently running U.S. Route 68 and KY 80, as well as US 68 Bus. It carries US 68 for its course from West Main Street/Bowling Green Road to the other US 68/US 68 Bus. intersection on the east side of town at Edmonton Road/Columbia Avenue. Jackson Highway
The Jackson Highway was an auto trail in the United States connecting Chicago and New Orleans via Nashville. It was named after General and U.S. President Andrew Jackson. The original concepts for the route and its name are credited to Alma Rittenberry of Birmingham, Alabama, member of the Birmingham Equal Suffrage Association, the Poetry Society of Alabama, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. State highways in Kentucky are maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which classifies routes as either primary or secondary. Some routes, such as Kentucky Route 80, are both primary and secondary, with only a segment of the route listed as part of the primary system. Barren County is a county located in the south-central portion of the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 44,485. Its county seat is Glasgow. The county was founded on December 20, 1798, from parts of Warren and Green Counties. It was named for the Barrens, meadowlands that cover the northern third, though actually the soil is fertile. Barren County is part of the Glasgow, KY Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Bowling Green-Glasgow, KY Combined Statistical Area. WBKO (channel 13) is a television station in Bowling Green, Kentucky, United States, affiliated with ABC, Fox, and The CW Plus. It is owned by Gray Television alongside Telemundo affiliate WBGS-LD (channel 34). The two stations maintain studios on Russellville Road (US 68/KY 80) near its junction with Interstate 165 on the west side of Bowling Green. The transmitter facility is located along Kentucky Route 185 (Richardsville Road) in unincorporated northern Warren County. WBKO went on the air in 1962 as WLTV; after five years without a network affiliation, it has been aligned with ABC since 1967. In 1969, WLTV's tower was blown off its base in a dynamiting incident. Kentucky Route 3160 (KY 3160) was a four-lane divided east–west state highway located entirely in Barren County in the south-central part of the U.S. state of Kentucky. It originated on the west side of Glasgow at an intersection running concurrently with U.S. Route 68 (US 68) and KY 80, and ended at an intersection with US 31E on the north side of town.
