Angiolo Vestris
Angiolo Maria Gasparo Vestris (19 November 1730, Florence - 10 June 1809, Paris) was a Franco-Italian ballet dancer. The younger brother of Gaétan Vestris and Thérèse Vestris, he studied dance with Louis Dupré (dancer), Louis Dupré and became a soloist of the Opéra de Paris in 1753. Auguste Vestris
Marie-Jean-Augustin Vestris, known as Auguste Vestris (27 March 1760 – 5 December 1842), was a French dancer. He was born in Paris, the illegitimate son of Gaétan Vestris and Marie Allard (1742–1802). His father was a Florentine dancer who had joined the Paris Opéra in 1748, his mother was a French dancer in the same theatre. He was dubbed "le dieu de la danse", (''the god of dance''), a popular title bestowed on the leading male dancer of each generation (previous 'Gods of the Dance' included his father Gaétan and Gaétan's teacher, Louis Dupré). He made his debut at the Paris Opéra (as had his mother, Marie Allard) in the third divertissement of the pastorale ''La Cinquantaine'' (written by Desfontaines-Lavallée and set to music by Jean-Benjamin de La Borde) in 1772 and was immediately recognized for his talent. Armand Vestris
Auguste-Armand Vestris (1788 or 1786, 1787, or 1795 Paris – 17 May 1825, Vienna) was an early 19th-century French dancer and choreographer. The son of Auguste Vestris and (if the year of birth is 1795) dancer Anne-Catherine Augier, called Aimée (1777–1809), he studied dance with his grandfather Gaétan and made his first appearance on the stage of the Opéra de Paris at age four, alongside his father and his grandfather. He danced in Italy and in Portugal, then settled in London in 1809. A ballet master at King's Theatre from 1813 to 1816, he later moved to Vienna where he died. Gaétan Vestris
Gaetano Apolline Baldassarre Vestris (18 April 1729 – 1808), French ballet dancer, was born in Florence and made his debut at the opera in 1749. Life Born of an Italian theatrical family, he studied dance with Louis Dupré at the Royal Academy in Paris, later joining the Paris Opéra where he served as dancing master to Louis XVI. Vestris was the first dancer to discard the mask and to use his face in mime. By 1751, his success and his vanity had grown to such a point that he is reported to have said, "There are but three great men in Europe—the king of Prussia, Voltaire and I." He was an excellent mimic as well as dancer. From 1770 to 1776 he was a master and composer of ballets, retiring, in favour of Jean Georges Noverre, with a pension. Lucia Elizabeth Vestris
Lucia Elizabeth Vestris (''née'' Elizabetta Lucia Bartolozzi; 3 March 1797 – 8 August 1856) was an English actress and a contralto opera singer, appearing in works by, among others, Mozart and Rossini. While popular in her time, she was more notable as a theatre producer and manager. After accumulating a fortune from her performances, she leased the Olympic Theatre in London and produced a series of burlesques and extravaganzas, especially popular works by James Planché, for which the house became famous. She also produced his work at other theatres she managed.
