VertiGo (ride)
VertiGo was a thrill ride located at Cedar Point and Knott's Berry Farm. Both the rides opened in 2001 and both were designed by S&S Worldwide. After an incident at Cedar Point, both rides were demolished for the 2002 season. Ride experience The ride structure consisted of three placed in a triangular arrangement with some distance between them. In the area between them was a relatively small triangular ride vehicle, which would sit on the ground when not operating. A cable ran from the top of each tower to the corresponding corner of the vehicle. The three towers were able to sway up to in high winds, or when the cables were stretched during ride operation. Each side of the vehicle had a horizontal pole carrying two seats, for a total of six riders. The vehicle arrangement was designed so that the seats were isolated from the rest of the framework and were relatively minimal so that it made guests feel insecure as there were few places to hold on. Cedar Point
Cedar Point is a amusement park located on a Lake Erie peninsula in Sandusky, Ohio, United States. Opened in 1870, it is considered the second-oldest operating amusement park in the U.S. behind Lake Compounce. Cedar Point is owned and operated by Cedar Fair and is the flagship of the amusement park chain. Known as "America's Roller Coast", the park features 15 roller coasters – fourth-most in the world with Six Flags Great America, behind Canada's Wonderland and Energylandia (17), as well as Six Flags Magic Mountain (20).
