Verran Municipality
Verran is a former municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1901 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was divided between Steinkjer Municipality and Indre Fosen Municipality. It was part of the Innherred region. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Malm. Other villages in Verran included Follafoss, Sela, Verrabotn, and Verrastranda. At the time of its dissolution in 2020, the municipality was the 185th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway. Verran was the 294th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 2,473. The municipality's population density was and its population had decreased by 16.1% over the last decade. Malm
is the administrative centre of the municipality of Steinkjer in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village of Malm is located along the Breistadsundet strait which flows into the Trondheimsfjorden. The village of Bartnes lies across the strait from Malm. The village lies about a drive northwest of the town of Steinkjer, about northwest of the village of Follafoss, and about south of the village of Namdalseid. The Norwegian County Road 720 runs through the village. The village of Malm was also the administrative centre of the old municipality of Malm from 1913 until its dissolution in 1964. Verrastranda is a village located in the municipality of Steinkjer in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located on the north shore of the Verrasundet arm of the Trondheimsfjord. Verdal is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Innherad region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Verdalsøra. Trondheimsfjord
The Trondheim Fjord or Trondheimsfjorden (), an inlet of the Norwegian Sea, is Norway's third-longest fjord at long. It is located in the west-central part of the country in Trøndelag county, and it stretches from the municipality of Ørland in the west to the municipality of Steinkjer in the north, passing the city of Trondheim on its way. Its maximum depth is , between Orkland and Indre Fosen. Nord-Trøndelag
Nord-Trøndelag (; "North Trøndelag") was a county constituting the northern part of the present-day Trøndelag county in Norway. The county was established in 1804 when the old Trondhjems amt was divided into two: Nordre Trondhjems amt and Søndre Trondhjems amt. In 2016, the two county councils voted to merge (back) into a single county on 1 January 2018. As of 1 January 2014, the county had 135,142 inhabitants, making it the country's fourth-least populated county. Framverran
Framverran is a village in the municipality of Inderøy in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located about from the Mosvik (village), village of Mosvik, about northwest of the village of Venneshamn, and about northeast of Trongsundet. The village sits along the Beitstadfjorden, southeast of the mouth of the Verrasundet and northwest of the mouth of the Skarnsund. Historically, Framverran was part of Ytterøy municipality before 1867, then it was part of Mosvik og Verran municipality from 1867 until 1901, it was then part of Verran municipality from 1901 to 1967, it was part of Mosvik municipality from 1968 to 2012, and since 2012, it has been a part of Inderøy municipality. Malm (municipality)
is a former municipality in the old Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1913 until its dissolution in 1964. The municipality included the northeastern portion of what is now the municipality of Steinkjer in Trøndelag county. The administrative centre was the village of Malm where Malm Church is located. History The municipality was established on 1 July 1913 when the western district of the municipality of Beitstad was separated to form the new municipality of Malm. The initial population of Malm was 993 people, which left Beitstad with 1,934. During the 1960s, there were many municipal mergers across Norway due to the work of the Schei Committee. On 1 January 1964, the municipality of Malm (population: 2,975) was merged with the neighboring municipality of Verran (population: 1,803), creating a new municipality called Verran.
