Vernon Township High School is a four-year comprehensive high school, comprehensive state school, public Secondary education in the United States, high school located in Vernon Township, New Jersey, Vernon Township, in Sussex County, New Jersey, Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. The school opened in 1975 and serves students in ninth grade, ninth through twelfth grades as the lone secondary school of the Vernon Township School District. The school has gone through expansions over the years including a new wing with several classrooms; the gymnasium was doubled in size. In April 2007, renovations were started on the auditorium and outdoor fields. The highway extends from U.S. Route 206 / Route 15 in Frankford Township to McAfee Glenwood Road ( CR 517) in Vernon Township. Garret Mountain Reservation
Garret Mountain Reservation (also spelled Garrett) is a park located on First Watchung Mountain (Garret Mountain) in Paterson and Woodland Park (formerly West Paterson) in southern Passaic County, New Jersey. The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) is an association of hundreds of New Jersey high schools that regulates high school athletics and holds tournaments and crowns champions in high school sports. State championships In order for schools to move on to the state championship, they must achieve a winning percentage of .500 or greater by a pre-set date (the "cut–off" date). Football, wrestling and bowling are the only sports where a school may have a .500 record and not qualify for the postseason.
