Vern Roberson
Vernon Lee Roberson (born August 3, 1952) is a former American football defensive back who played two seasons in the National Football League with the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers. He played college football at Grambling State University and attended Natchitoches Central High School in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Safety is a position in gridiron football on the American football positions#Defense, defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme.
