Verity Rushworth
Verity Charlotte Rushworth (born 15 August 1985) is an English actress. She is known for portraying the role of Donna Windsor in the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'' from 1998 to 2009, with a guest appearance in 2014. She has played many theatre roles throughout the UK, including two leading roles in West End theatre productions. From 2020 to 2021, she appeared in the BBC medical soap opera ''Doctors'' as Lily Walker. Life and career Rushworth attended St. Mary's Catholic High School, Menston. In 1997, Rushworth had small roles in ITV television programmes such as '' Heartbeat'', and in 1998, at the age of 12, she took on her most notable role, Donna Windsor in the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale''. She took the role over from Sophie Jeffery, who played the part from 1993 to 1997. After appearing on ''Emmerdale'' for over 10 years, Rushworth filmed her final scenes at the end of 2008 which were later aired in January 2009. Salisbury Playhouse
Salisbury Playhouse is a theatre in the English city of Salisbury, Wiltshire. It was built in 1976 and comprises the 517-seat Main House and the 149-seat Salberg, a rehearsal room and a community & education space. ''Soapstar Superchef'' was a cooking show on the ITV Network, where soap stars from '' Coronation Street'', '' EastEnders'', ''Emmerdale'', ''Hollyoaks'' (and '' Hollyoaks: In the City'') and '' Neighbours'' competed to be crowned "kings" or "queens" of the kitchen. Their culinary efforts were judged by an expert panel of three judges. ''Soapstar Superstar'' is a British talent show that aired on ITV from 6 January 2006 to 13 January 2007. The show's format works in a similar format to that of ''Pop Idol'' and ''The X Factor'', in that the competition features a group of soap opera actors performing in front of a celebrity panel of judges, with the weakest performers being eliminated when they receive the fewest votes from the judges and a public vote. Unlike these shows, the audience decides upon the song contestants sung in the next round, with the eliminated contestant joining the judging panel for that episode to save one of the other contestants and decide on which song they would sing next.
