Christopher (Chris) Verhoef (born 1962) is a Dutch computer scientist, and Professor of Computer Science at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Biography Born in Kedichem in 1962, Verhoef received his PhD in computer science at the University of Amsterdam in 1992 under supervision of Jan Bergstra with the thesis "Linear unary operators in process algebra." Verhoef had done his graduate work at the Programming Research Group of the University of Amsterdam, where in 1990 he had published his first report "On the register operator." Early 1990s he joined the Department of Mathematics and Computing Science of Eindhoven University of Technology. One of his first research interests was the Algebra of Communicating Processes, an "algebraic theory to describe processes that can communicate." Anthonie Wilhelmus (Toon) Verhoef (born Voorburg, October 17, 1946) is a Dutch painter, ceramist and art lecturer. Biography Verhoef attended the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam in 1965-1966, and studied art history at the University of South Africa in Johannesburg from 1966 to 1968. Subsequently, he received further art education at the Ateliers '63 in Haarlem from 1968 to 1970. Verhoef settled as independent artist and over the years worked in Eindhoven, Buenos Aires in Argentina, Wales, Amsterdam, Johannesburg (South-Africa), Haarlem, Edam, New York City, and Hanover (New Hampshire). In 1975 he was appointed art lecturer at the De Ateliers in Amsterdam, where he lecturer until 2003. From 1981 to 1984 he also lectured at the Academie Minerva in Groningen; at the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming Tilburg (ABV) in 1983-1984; at the Villa Arson in Nice in 1983-1984, and at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe from 2009 to 2014. Maartje Verhoef (born 5 September 1997) is a Dutch fashion model. Career Maartje Verhoef was discovered when a photographer who worked at her father's company asked her to replace a model who called in sick for a photoshoot. The photographer sent the pictures to Micha Models, which would become her mother agency. Verhoef started her fashion career in September 2012, by opening the Prada Spring/Summer 2013 runway show in Milan, as an exclusive. Pieter Adriaan Verhoef (25 April 1914–18 January 2013) was a South African theologian and professor at Stellenbosch University. He was dean of Stellenbosch's Faculty of Theology from 1975–1979. Verhoef was part of the editorial board that made the 1983 translation of the Bible into Afrikaans by the South African Bible Society. Verhoef earned a doctorate from the Free University in Amsterdam and an MA in Semitic Languages from Potchefstroom University.
