Ace York Caesar Asturias Aguilar (November 20, 1954 – December 15, 2007), better known as Ace Vergel, was a Filipino actor dubbed "The Original Bad Boy of Philippine Movies". He was the son of the late film actors Alicia Vergel and César Ramírez, and brother of actress Beverly Vergel. Early life He was born Ace York Caesar Asturias Aguilar in the Philippines on November 20, 1954 to parents Alicia Vergel and Cesar Ramirez. His parents were well-known stars in the 1950s. He attended Business Management and Public Relations at Ateneo de Manila University in 1975. Erlinda Gaerlan Asturias-Aguilar (June 7, 1927 – May 20, 1992), popularity known as Alicia Vergel, was a Filipina actress noted for her roles as fighting women and amazons and, like Norma Blancaflor, for her heart-shaped face. Early career Vergel's film credits include ''Diwani'' opposite César Ramirez, '' MN'' with Carmen Rosales as her arch-enemy, '' Balisong'' with Ramon Revilla and ''Madame X'' with Gloria Romero as her daughter. She participated in the unfinished movie ''Bibingka'y masarap'' under Sampaguita Pictures in the late 40s. Her performance as Orang in Basahang Ginto won Vergel the first FAMAS Award for Best Actress in 1952. In 1977, she starred as the widowed and retired principal and teacher coping up with the demands of aging in Lotus Productions' "Inay" directed by Lino Brocka. Beverly Vergel is an actress and film writer, director and producer, who now lives and works in Canada after many screen appearances in the Philippines during the 1980s and 1990s. Alfredo Petit-Vergel
Alfredo Víctor Petit-Vergel (24 July 1936 – 7 August 2021) was a Cuban Roman Catholic prelate, who served as the Titular Bishop of Buslacena and the Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Havana. He started his studies at El Buen Pastor Seminary in Havana and then finished his religious studies in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University. He was ordained a priest on 23 December 1961, in Rome. When he returned to Havana he was assigned to the parish of Sagrado Corazon (Sacred Heart) in Vedado, then the parish of Salvador del Mundo in El Cerro. He was a professor at the San Carlos and San Ambrosio Seminary and assigned to the parish of San Francisco de Paula and chaplain of the San Francisco de Paula Hospital.
