Andrey Alexandrovich Verbitsky (russian: Андрей Александрович Вербицкий) (born 25 February 1941), is a Russian educational psychologist. His areas of academic interest include the development of higher education in Russia, as well as developmental, educational, and social psychology. He has published more than 200 academic and instructional papers, including five monographs. Education Verbitsky holds an undergraduate Specialist degree in Psychology from Lomonosov Moscow State University. He holds a Kandidat nauk in Psychology degree, conferred in 1974 by Aspirantura at the Research Institute of General and Educational Psychology at Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Bernardo Verbitsky (22 November 1907 – 15 March 1979) was an Argentine writer and journalist. Biography Verbitsky was born of Ukrainian-Jewish immigrant parents (his surname Verbitsky means willow in Ukrainian). He was a screenwriter, a journalist from ''Noticias Gráficas'', and a member of ''Academia Porteña del Lunfardo'' ("Buenos Aires Lunfardo's Academy"). He reported Buenos Aires' ups and downs; his writings were linked to tango and other essential aspects of the city. Horacio Verbitsky (born February 11, 1942) is an Argentine investigative journalist and author with a history as a leftist guerrilla in the Montoneros. In the early 1990s, he reported on a series corruption scandals in the administration of President Carlos Menem, which eventually led to the resignations or firings of many of Menem's ministers. In 1994, he reported on the confessions of naval officer Adolfo Scilingo, documenting torture and executions by the Argentine military during the 1976–83 Dirty War. His books on both the Menem administration and the Scilingo confessions became national bestsellers. As of January 2015 Verbitsky is a Commissioner for the International Commission against the Death Penalty. Misha Verbitsky (russian: link=no, Ми́ша Верби́цкий, born June 20, 1969 in Moscow) is a Russian mathematician. He works at the Instituto Nacional de Matemática Pura e Aplicada in Rio de Janeiro. He is primarily known to the general public as a controversial critic, political activist and independent music publisher. Scientific activities Verbitsky graduated from a Math class at the Moscow State School 57 in 1986, and has been active in mathematics since then. His principal area of interest in mathematics is differential geometry, especially geometry of hyperkähler manifolds and locally conformally Kähler manifolds. He proved an analogue of the global Torelli theorem for hyperkähler manifolds and the mirror conjecture in hyperkähler case. He also contributed to the theory of Hodge structures. Vladimir Igoryevich Verbitsky (russian: Владимир Игоревич Вербицкий; born 1943) is a Soviet and Australian conductor. He was born in Leningrad.
