Verbandsliga Bremen
The Bremen-Liga, sometimes also referred to as ''Oberliga Bremen'', is a fifth tier of the German football league system and the highest league in the German state Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. Overview 1947–1963 The league was formed in 1947 as Amateurliga Bremen by thirteen clubs, including four from outside the city-state, in the newly recreated state Free Hanseatic City of Bremen which was then part of the US occupation zone in Germany. The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and its football association are the smallest in Germany. The state is actually separated in two halves, the cities of Bremen and Bremerhaven are split by the state of Lower Saxony. Bundesliga
The Bundesliga (; ), sometimes referred to as the Fußball-Bundesliga () or 1. Bundesliga (), is a professional association football league in Germany. At the top of the German football league system, the Bundesliga is Germany's primary football competition. The Bundesliga comprises 18 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the 2. Bundesliga. Seasons run from August to May. Games are played on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. TuS Komet Arsten is a German football club from the district of Arsten, in the city of Bremen in northwestern Germany. It was established in 2006 through the merger of ''TuS Arsten'' and ''VfB Komet Arsten'', both of which appeared in second-division play after World War II. __TOC__ History VfB Komet Arsten Predecessor ''Komet Arsten'' was formed in 1896 out of the earlier sides ''Germania Arsten'' and ''Brema Arsten'' and joined ''Verein für Bewegungsspiele Arsten'' in 1919 to create VfB Komet Arsten. Blumenthaler SV
Blumenthaler SV is a German association football club from Blumenthal, the northernmost district of the city of Bremen. The club was established 6 June 1919 as ''Blumenthaler Sportverein'' by former members of ''Blumenthaler Fußballverein 1912''. ''FV'' was the successor to ''Spiel- und Sport Blumenthal'' and is part of the historical tradition of '' SG Aumund-Vegesack'', which is still active today. OSC Bremerhaven
OSC Bremerhaven is a German sports club based in Bremerhaven, in the federal state of Bremen. History The club was founded in 1972 as ''Olympischer Sport-Club Bremerhaven'' in a merger of various local football clubs including ''ATS Bremerhaven'', which has roots going back to 1859, ''Polizei Sportverein'', ''TuS Bremerhaven 93'', and the ''Judo-Klub''. They are the largest sports club in the city, claiming some 4500 members, but football is not their primary focus. Their minor league side currently competes at the tier V level after a decade spent in tiers II and III, from the mid-70s through to the mid-80s. Regionalliga Nord (1963-74)
The Regionalliga Nord ( en, Regional League North) is the fourth tier of the German football league system in the states of Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen and Hamburg. It is one of five leagues at this level, together with the Regionalliga Bayern, Regionalliga Nordost, Regionalliga Südwest and the Regionalliga West. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the third tier. From 1963 to 1974, a Regionalliga Nord existed as the second tier of the German football league system, but it is not related to the current Regionalliga. SV Werder Bremen II is the reserve team of SV Werder Bremen. It plays in Regionalliga, the fourth level of the German football league system, and has qualified for the first round of the DFB-Pokal on nineteen occasions. It also has won the German amateur football championship three times, a joint record. Until 2005 the team played as SV Werder Bremen Amateure. NOFV-Oberliga
The NOFV- Oberliga is a division at step 5 of the German football league system. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, it became the successor of the DDR-Oberliga, and functions today as a 5th division in the former territory of East Germany and the city of Berlin. This league is named after the Nordostdeutscher Fußballverband (NOFV: North-East German Football Association), the regional association of the DFB in the former East German territories. The league is currently split in two groups, north and south, the NOFV-Oberliga Nord and NOFV-Oberliga Süd. Oberliga Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein
The Oberliga Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein was the fourth tier of the German football league system in the north of Germany, existing from 1994 to 2004. It covered the states of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. With the re-formation of the Oberliga Nord in 2004, the league was disbanded. Overview The Oberliga Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein started out in 1994 as a replacement for the Oberliga Nord, which was disbanded in that year. Along with this league, the Oberliga Niedersachsen/Bremen was formed to cover the other two of the four states the Oberliga Nord previously had served. The reason for the disbanding of the Oberliga Nord and the creation of two separate leagues in its stead was the formation of the Regionalliga Nord, which became the new third tier of league football in the north and covered exactly the same region as the Oberliga previously.
