Verano De Escándalo (2008)
''Verano de Escándalo'' (2008) ( Spanish for "Summer of Scandal") was the twelfth annual Verano de Escándalo professional wrestling show promoted by AAA. The show took place on September 14, 2008, in Zapopan, Mexico. The Main event featured a Steel Cage "Street Fight" Match between Vampiro and El Mesías. Production Background First held during the summer of 1997 the Mexican professional wrestling, company v began holding a major wrestling show during the summer, most often in September, called ''Verano de Escándalo'' ("Summer of Scandal"). The ''Verano de Escándalo'' show was an annual event from 1997 until 2011, then AAA did not hold a show in 2012 and 2013 before bringing the show back in 2014, but this time in June, putting it at the time AAA previously held their ''Triplemanía'' show. Extreme Tiger
Tigre Uno (born April 4, 1981) is a Mexican professional wrestler. He is best known for his time with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, where he is a one-time X Division Champion. Outside of the United States he is best known for his work in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), where he is a former two-time holder of the AAA Cruiserweight and AAA World Tag Team Championships and the 2011 Rey de Reyes tournament winner as Extreme Tiger. Triplemanía
Triplemanía is the biggest annual professional wrestling event promoted by the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) promotion and is traditionally held in August each year. A majority of the shows have been presented as pay-per-view events, with some being shown as television specials on the Televisa channel or as streaming events on Twitch. The Triplemanía show features culminations of AAA's long building storylines. During the early years of Triplemanía, the event was not a presented as a single show, but a series of shows - either two or three per year. The show has been promoted for 30 years, with 39 shows in total promoted under the Triplemanía banner. Much like the singles match, tag team professional wrestling matches can and have taken many forms. Mariella Balbuena Torres (born October 19, 1979) is a Mexican ''Luchadora'', or female professional wrestler best known under the ring name Mari Apache (sometimes written as "Mary Apache"). She is the daughter of ''Luchador'' Gran Apache and the sister of ''luchadora'' Faby Apache. Mario Balbuena González (April 16, 1959 – May 7, 2017) -- better known under the ring names Gran Apache and El Apache -- was a Mexican ''luchador'', or professional wrestler and trainer. Balbuena worked for AAA / Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) since 1996, both as a wrestler and a trainer. He was involved in training almost all young wrestlers who worked for the promotion during that period of time. Two of Balbuena's four daughters—Faby Apache and Mari Apache—followed him into a professional wrestling career. His second wife also became a professional wrestler under the name Lady Apache. Noé Astro Moreno León (born December 6, 1972) is a Mexican ''Luchador'' known under the ring name El Oriental, currently works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) but is mainly known for his almost 10-year-long stint in Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) along with his sisters Cynthia, Rossy and Esther Moreno. In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy" or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans, and acts as a protagonist to the heels, who are the villainous antagonist or "bad guy" characters. Traditionally, they wrestle within the rules and avoid cheating (in contrast to the villains who use illegal moves and call in additional wrestlers to do their work for them) while behaving positively towards the referee and the audience. Heel (professional Wrestling)
In professional wrestling, a heel (also known as a ''rudo'' in '' lucha libre'') is a wrestler who portrays a villain, "bad guy", or "rulebreaker", and acts as an antagonist to the faces, who are the heroic protagonist or "good guy" characters. Not everything a heel wrestler does must be villainous: heels need only to be booed or jeered by the audience to be effective characters, although most truly successful heels embrace other aspects of their devious personalities, such as cheating to win or using foreign objects. "The role of a heel is to get 'heat,' which means spurring the crowd to obstreperous hatred, and generally involves cheating and pretty much any other manner of socially unacceptable behavior that will get the job done." Wrestling Mask
A wrestling mask is a fabric-based mask that some professional wrestlers wear as part of their in-ring persona or gimmick. Professional wrestlers have been using masks as far back as 1915 and they are still widely used today, especially in Lucha Libre in Mexico. History At the 1865 World's Fair, Theobaud Bauer debuted the mask, wrestling as "The Masked Wrestler" in Paris, France. He continued wrestling using the mask throughout France as part of a circus troupe in the 1860s before moving on to the United States in the early 1870s. In 1915, Mort Henderson started wrestling as the "Masked Marvel" in the New York area making him the first North American wrestler to perform with such a gimmick.
