Vera Sisson
Vera Sisson (July 31, 1891 – August 6, 1954) was an American actress of the silent era. Biography Vera Sisson was born on July 31, 1891 in Salt Lake City. She received her education at Brownlee Collegiate School for Girls in Denver, Colorado. In 1912, Sisson applied for work as an extra at Universal Pictures and made her film debut in ''The Helping Hand'' (1913). Sisson received recognition as J. Warren Kerrigan's leading lady in seven successful films, including ''The Sandhill Lovers'' (1914), The Oyster Dredger (1915), and ''A Bogus Bandit'' (1915). In 1915, Sisson was offered a contract with Biograph Studios, and the following year she married actor and director Richard Rosson. Sisson costarred with Harold Lockwood and Virginia Rappe in ''Paradise Garden'' (1917), Rudolph Valentino in '' The Married Virgin'' (1918), and Constance Talmadge in '' Experimental Marriage'' (1919). Evelyn Brent (born Mary Elizabeth Riggs; October 20, 1895 – June 4, 1975) was an American film and stage actress. Early life Brent was born in Tampa, Florida, and known as Betty. When she was age 10, her mother Eleanor (née. Warner) died, leaving her father Arthur to raise her alone. She moved to New York City as a teenager, and her good looks brought modeling jobs that led to an opportunity to become involved in movies. She originally studied to be a teacher. While attending a normal school in New York, she visited the World Film Studio in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Two days later, she was working there as an extra, earning $3 per day. ''For Cash'' is a 1915 American silent drama short film directed by Lon Chaney and released by Universal Pictures, starring J. Warren Kerrigan and Vera Sisson. Chaney directed this film but not appear in it. The film is today considered to be lost. (*Note - Historian Jon C. Mirsalis has claimed that Lon Chaney appeared in the film as Vera's father, but the Blake book on Chaney states that Chaney only directed the film and did not act in it.) ''The Stool Pigeon'' is a 1915 American crime film directed by Lon Chaney and starring J. Warren Kerrigan, Vera Sisson and George Periolat. Chaney did not appear in the film himself. The film is considered to be lost. ''The Stool Pigeon'' was Chaney's debut film as a movie director. Chaney directed a total of six silent films for the Victor Company, all released in 1915. Carbon monoxide poisoning typically occurs from breathing in carbon monoxide (CO) at excessive levels.
