Venus In Furs (1969 Dallamano Film)
''Venus in Furs'' ( it, Venere in pelliccia) (also known as ''Devil in the Flesh'') is a 1969 Italian erotic drama film directed by Massimo Dallamano. Based on the novel ''Venus in Furs'' by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, the film was first released in 1969 in Germany under the title ''Venus im Pelz''. In Italy, the film did not pass the censorship examination because of the sex scenes deemed too rough and all attempts to overcome the censorship's remarks, with various cut versions, were unsuccessful. The film was eventually released in 1973 under the title ''Venere nuda'', but even this cut version was confiscated after a few days for contempt of decency. In 1975, the film was finally released in Italian cinemas under the title ''Le malizie di Venere'', in a heavily censored version which was altered by a new editing and by the introduction of new scenes filmed by Paolo Heusch, which turned the film plot into a'' giallo''. Massimo Dallamano
Massimo Dallamano (17 April 1917 – 4 November 1976), sometimes credited as Max Dillman, Max Dillmann or Jack Dalmas, was an Italian director and director of photography. Life and career Born in Milan, Dallamano began in the 1940s as cameraman for documentaries and commercials, and after the war he became a cinematographer, specializing in adventure films. Credited as Jack Dalmas he was the cinematographer on Sergio Leone's ''A Fistful of Dollars'' (1964) and ''For a Few Dollars More'' (1965). In 1967 he made his directorial debut with another Spaghetti Western, ''Bandidos''. He went on to direct a dozen more films, including poliziotteschi, giallo films and erotic dramas. Giacomo Furia
Giacomo Matteo Furia (2 January 1925 – 5 June 2015) was an Italian film, television and stage actor. He appeared in more than 130 films between 1948 and 1998. Life and career Born in Arienzo, near Caserta, Furia started his acting career thanks to Eduardo De Filippo, he had met through an after-school summer job; he made his professional debut on stage in 1945, in De Filippo's "Napoli milionaria". He made his film debut three years later, in Mario Mattoli's '' Assunta Spina''; mainly cast in character roles, he was often a sidekick of Totò, notably landing a major role in ''The Band of Honest Men''. His credits include films directed by Federico Fellini, Vittorio De Sica, Roberto Rossellini and Francesco Rosi.
