Venetian Independence
Venetian Independence ( it, Indipendenza Veneta, vec, Independensa Vèneta, IV) is a Venetist, liberal and, to some extent, libertarian political party active in Veneto. The party seeks to achieve full political independence for the former territories of the Venetian Republic from Italy through a referendum. IV, which functions also as an advocacy group, counts a handful of municipal councillors and has not been represented yet in the Regional Council of Veneto. The party was formed in May 2012 as a split from Veneto State (VS) and several members of IV are former affiliates of the Venetian National Party (PNV). The party's most recognisable member is Alessio Morosin (a former regional councillor of the LV–LN), but its formal leaders have been Michele Favero, Massimo Vidori, Juri De Luca and Michele Favero. Alessio Morosin
Alessio Morosin (born 20 June 1955 in Noale) is an Italian lawyer and politician. He joined Liga Veneta– Lega Nord in the early 1990s and was elected to the Regional Council of Veneto at the 1995 regional election. He made his name in Venetist circles for being the author of resolution 42/1998 (title: "Yesterday's and today's peoples and the right to self-determination"), concerning the "self-determination" of the Venetian people. The resolution read: "The Venetian people invokes its right to a democratic and direct referendum for the free expression of its right to self-determination". The resolution was approved by a majority vote in the Council on 22 April 1998. His strong Venetism eventually led Morosin to leave Liga Veneta–Lega Nord in October 1998 to join Liga Veneta Repubblica (LVR), along with Fabrizio Comencini and other four regional councillors. Susegana
Susegana is a '' comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Treviso in the Italian region Veneto, located about north of Venice and about north of Treviso. History Traces of human presence from the late Bronze Age have been found in Susegana area. During the Roman age it was crossed by the Via Claudia Augusta, with the likely presence of some settlements near it. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the area was conquered by the Lombards; later the abbey of Follina acquired the area and favoured its flourishment. In the 12th century a castle was founded on a hill by the counts of Treviso (later of Collalto), also of Lombard origin. Antonio Guadagnini (Bassano del Grappa, 25 August 1966) is an Italian politician. Guadagnini joined Christian Democracy (DC) in the late 1980s and, after that party's dissolution in 1994, he joined a score of centre-right Christian-democratic parties, National Alliance (AN) and, finally, the Union of Christian and Centre Democrats (UDC). Lodovico Pizzati (born 3 September 1973) is an Italian economist, politician, and university professor. He currently teaches at the University of Southern California in the Economics department, where he teaches a combination of upper and lower level courses.
