It includes the temple town of Vemulawada, Karimnagar district, Vemulawada and part of Karimnagar (Lok Sabha constituency), Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency. Chennamaneni Ramesh of Telangana Rashtra Samithi is representing the constituency since its inception in 2009. Telangana Legislative Assembly
The Telangana Legislative Assembly or Telangana Śāsana Sabha is the lower house of the Telangana Legislature. The Legislative Assembly of Telangana currently consists of 119 elected members and 1 nominated member from the Anglo-Indian community. Its chief engineer was Nawab Sarwar Jung. The members of the ''Vidhana Sabha'' are directly elected by people through Universal suffrage, adult franchise. Each List of constituencies of Telangana Legislative Assembly, constituency elects one member of the assembly. Members are popularly known as M.L.A's. The assembly is elected using the Plurality voting, simple plurality or "first past the post" electoral system. The elections are conducted by the Election Commission of India. 2014 Telangana Legislative Assembly Election
The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, 2014 took place on 30 April and 7 May 2014 to elect members to the legislatures of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It was held concurrently with the Indian general election. The results were declared on 16 May 2014. The Telugu Desam Party led by N. Chandrababu Naidu won a majority of the 175 seats in the rump Andhra Pradesh, while Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by K. Chandrashekar Rao won in the new state of Telangana. Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla District
Vemulawada is an ancient historical and a famous pilgrimage census town in Rajanna Sircilla district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is the headquarters of Vemulawada Mandal and Revenue Division. The place is notable for Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy temple, constructed between 760 and 973 CE, and a site of pilgrimage for Hindu worshipers. It also has ancient temples of Bheemeswara, Nagareswara and Pochamma nearby the main temple of Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy. It was the capital of Vemulawada Chalukyas, that ruled present day Telangana, parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra between 7 and 10 century CE. The town attracts large number of pilgrims from South India as well as Maharashtra, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Huge number of devotees throng the place during Maha Shivaratri and Sri Rama Navami. 2018 Telangana Legislative Assembly Election
The Telangana Legislative Assembly election was held in Telangana on 7 December 2018 to constitute the second Legislative Assembly since the formation of the state in 2014. The incumbent Telangana Rashtra Samithi, the Indian National Congress, BJP, Telangana Jana Samithi, and Telugu Desam Party were the main contestants in the election. Four opposition parties in the state, INC, TJS, TDP and CPI announced the formation of a 'Maha Kootami' (Grand Alliance), to defeat the ruling TRS in the elections.
