Adam Joseph Vella (born 12 June 1971) is the National Shotgun Coach of the Australian Team. He is a former Australian olympic clay target shooting champion. Vella was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Melbourne and is a Commonwealth Games four times gold medalist and an Olympic Games, Olympic bronze medalist. Adam Vella is the only shooter who has ever ranked #1 in the World at the same time in Trap and Double Trap. Despite being the No 1 ranked shooter in the world in 2007, Adam missed on the selection to the 2008 Olympics. His international performances were not taken into consideration as per the AISL Olympic selection criteria and the position was won by Craig Henwood after beating Adam by 1 target. Luciano Germán Vella (born April 13, 1981) is a retired Argentine footballer who played as a right-back. Career He started playing football for his home town club Newell's Old Boys. He transferred to then La Liga club Cádiz CF in January 2006. He endured a rather unsuccessful spell in Spain with Cádiz relegated after the 2005–06 season. Silvio Vella (born 8 February 1967) is a former professional footballer who played for Rabat Ajax and Hibernians as a defender. Born in Canada, he played for the Malta national team. Career Born in Canada, Vella has dual nationality, Maltese and Canadian. His family moved to Malta in 1970. He started playing football with Rabat Ajax and when he was promoted to the senior team, he soon became an invaluable asset, and rarely missed a game. Michael Vella is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. A New South Wales State of Origin and Australian international representative forward, he played his club football in the NRL for the Parramatta Eels, and in the Super League for Hull Kingston Rovers, who he also captained. Alessio Emmanuel Vella (born 5 June 1953), or Maltese Falcon, is a Maltese businessman, former boxer and the former National President of the Rebels Motorcycle Club in Australia. Despite having lived in Australia since the 1960s, he is not a citizen of the country. This caused visa problems when he tried to return to Australia after having gone to Japan with his son Adam (also a boxer) for a boxing match in 2007. Karmenu Vella is a Maltese politician and former member of the European Commission, in charge of Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries between 2014 and 2019.
