''Veleno'' is a studio album by Italian singer Mina, released on 25 October 2002 by PDU. Overview With this album, Mina returns to performing original material (the two previous albums were cover albums). The album features eleven new songs, as well as a cover version of "Notturno delle tre" by Ivano Fossati, whose voice can also be heard on the recording. In the Italian chart, the album debuted on the second position, losing to ''L'eccezione'' by Carmen Consoli, in total, the album stayed on the chart for 14 weeks, in the annual rating the album took the 32nd position. It was also able to get into the European Top 100 Albums at the 47th position. In Italy, the album became double platinum. Critical reception The album received generally positive reviews. "Succhiando l'uva" ( en, "Sucking grapes") is a song recorded by Italian singer Mina. It was written by Matteo Saggese, Mino Vergnaghi and Zucchero Fornaciari. The song was released as the lead single from the 2002 album ''Veleno'', debuting at number two on the Italian chart and also becoming the fifteenth on the radio chart. A Spanish version of the song called "Uvas maduras" was recorded by Mina in 2007 for the album '' Todavia''. Critical reception Franco Zanetti of '' Rockol'' noted that here Mina is more than usually happy, relaxed, melodically wide and serenely smooth. The album is an homage to the songs of Grammy Award-winning Italian singer, songwriter, and composer Domenico Modugno Domenico Modugno (; 9 January 1928 – 6 August 1994) was an Italian singer, actor and, later in life, a member of the Italian Parliament. Ivano Alberto Fossati (born 21 September 1951) is an Italian pop singer from Genoa. He was a member of the progressive rock group Delirium and has worked with Fabrizio De André, Riccardo Tesi, Anna Oxa, Mia Martini, Ornella Vanoni, Shirley Bassey, Francesco De Gregori, Menudo and Mina. In October 2011, after the release of the album ''Decadancing'', Fossati announced during Fabio Fazio's TV show ''Che tempo che fa'' that he decided to end his music career: "I've been thinking a lot about it, not in the last days, but during last two or three years. Daniele Silvestri (born 18 August 1968) is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician. Career Silvestri debuted in 1994, releasing his eponymous album. Giancarlo Bigazzi (5 September 1940 – 19 January 2012) was an Italian music producer and composer. He was a former member of comedy music group Squallor. Bruno Lauzi (; 8 August 1937 – 24 October 2006) was an Italian singer-songwriter, poet and writer. Biography Bruno Lauzi was born in Asmara, then part of the Italian Eastern Africa, to a Catholic father, Francesco Lauzi and a Jewish mother, Laura Nahum. In the 1960s he moved to Genoa, where he became part of the local music scene and met Gino Paoli, Luigi Tenco and Fabrizio De André. After a spell as song writer for Mia Martini, Georges Moustaki and Ornella Vanoni, Lauzi established himself as a renowned ''cantautore'' (singer-songwriter).
