Velcra
Velcra was a Finnish rock band, established 2000. Their music features female vocals (both clean and distorted) on a background of heavily distorted guitars and marching beats with heavy use of sample loops. History They soon signed to Virgin Records to release an album. In 2002, Velcra released their debut CD, ''Consequences of Disobedience''. The singles "Can't Stop Fighting" and "My Law" helped the band rise to No. 5 on the Finnish charts. Velcra also released the singles, "Big Brother" and "Test Animals". In 2005, the band released their second album, ''Between Force and Fate'', and the single "Our Will Against Their Will" hit No. 3 on the Finnish chart. Since then, the band has made two more music videos, one for "Memory Loss" and one for "The Bong Song". Mikko Herranen
Mikko Herranen is a Finnish singer and musician. His current band Misterer is a thrash metal band from Helsinki and they are preparing songs for their upcoming debut album. Previously, he fronted RUST, which released three albums and several singles between 2003 and 2010. Herranen competed in Michael Monroe's team in the reality singing competition ''The Voice of Finland'' in 2012. His debut solo album ''Kylmä maailma'' was released through Johanna Kustannus in June 2012. Career RUST Herranen was the main composer and the singer/bass player of RUST, a post-grunge/metal band out of Helsinki. Since the band's formation in 2001, Herranen also produced all the band's recordings, including three full-length albums, two EPs and five singles. Qstock
Qstock is an annual two-day rock festival held at the end of July in Oulu, Finland. The festival lineup includes some of the biggest names in both domestic and international music scene, regardless of the genre. The first Qstock festival was organised in 2003. The festival has quickly grown into the biggest summer event in northern Finland, with its 30,000 visitors. As of July 2022, Qstock has been sold out nine times in a row. The festival acts as sort of a successor of the former Kuusrock festival which was organised in Oulu from 1970s until early 1990s. Qstock is organised by Qstock Ltd and the event's official, promotional vehicle is a white/yellow coloured VW Kleinbus from 1965. Qstock has its own online TV channel called 'QTV' which releases new episodes throughout the Spring, with interviews from each summer's upcoming festival lineup. Rapping (also rhyming, spitting, emceeing or MCing) is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates "rhyme, rhythmic speech, and street vernacular". Amorphis
Amorphis is a Finnish heavy metal band founded by Jan Rechberger, Tomi Koivusaari, and Esa Holopainen in 1990. Initially, the band was a death metal act, but on later albums they evolved into playing other genres, including progressive metal, and folk metal. They frequently use the ''Kalevala'', the epic poem of Finland, as a source for their lyrics.
