Veikko Nekundi
Veikko Nekundi (born 24 November 1977) is a Namibian politician serving in the Cabinet of Namibia as deputy minister of works and transport. He is also a legislator in the National Assembly since 2015. Biography Nekundi was born on 24 November 1977 at Otshitutuma, in Omusati Region. He served as a youth development and training personnel at City of Windhoek from 2005 to 2015. After SWAPO Party Youth League secretary general Elijah Ngurare expelled from the position in 2015, Nekundi acted as an interim leader of the of SWAPO Party youth wing from 2015 to 2017. In 1998, he served as president of Student Representative council at Namibia University of Science and Technology formally known as Polytechnic of Namibia. Cabinet Of Namibia
The Cabinet of Namibia is an appointed body that was established by Chapter 6 (Articles 35-42) of the Constitution of Namibia. It is mandated to include the following positions: the President of Namibia, the Prime Minister of Namibia and any positions that the President so appoints. All cabinet members also sit in the National Assembly. This situation has been criticised by Namibia's civil society and the opposition as creating a significant overlap between executive and legislature, undermining the separation of powers. National Assembly (Namibia)
The National Assembly is the lower chamber of Namibia's bicameral Parliament. Its laws must be approved by the National Council, the upper house. Since 2014, it has a total of 104 members. 96 members are directly elected through a system of closed list proportional representation and serve five-year terms. Eight additional members are appointed by the President. Since 2015, SWAPO member Peter Katjavivi has been the Speaker of the National Assembly. Namibia's National Assembly emerged on Independence Day on 21 March 1990 from the Constituent Assembly of Namibia, following the elections of November 1989. Omusati Region
Omusati ( ng, Mopane, after the dominant tree in the area) is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, its capital is Outapi. The towns of Okahao, Oshikuku and Ruacana as well as the self-governed village Tsandi are situated in this region. , Omusati had 148,834 registered voters. The region is home to the Ruacana Falls and the Omugulugwombashe heritage site, where the Namibian struggle for independence started in 1966. Geography In the north, Omusati borders the Cunene Province of Angola. Domestically, it borders the following regions: *Ohangwena - northeast *Oshana - east * Kunene - south and west The region got its name from the Mopane tree (''omusati'': ng, Mopane) which is the dominant species in the region. SWAPO Party Youth League
The SWAPO Party Youth League (SPYL), formerly known as the SWAPO Youth League (SYL), is the youth wing of the SWAPO Party, the ruling party of Namibia since 1990.Swapo party constitution It shares the same principles as those of the SWAPO Party. Foundation SPYL came into existence in 1969 after the SWAPO Tanga Consultative Congress in Tanzania adopted a new constitution. Elijah Ngurare
Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare is a Namibian politician and academic at the University of Namibia who served as the Secretary General of the SWAPO Party Youth League from 2007 to 2015. Early life and education Elijah Ngurare was born on 28 October 1970 into a peasant family at Nkurenkuru during the South African Border War. His father had four wives and his mother was the youngest in the union. As a little boy, he looked after his father’s cattle and goats like all other boys at the time.
