Current motor vehicle registrations in Chile are officially known as Placa Patente Única (PPU). This denomination was introduced when unifying the license plate registries at the national level, where each vehicle would carry a unique license plate in the country, in 1985. Formats Old format (before December 31, 1984) In the first registration system, vehicles were registered in each municipality, and this assigned a record independently, whose combinations were governed by a certain geographical distribution. The amounts of letters and numbers depend on the era: These patents carried combinations of letters and numbers. They also wore different colors depending on the type of vehicle, the use it is given or the year. Providencia (Chile)
Providencia (, Spanish: "providence") is a commune of Chile located in Santiago Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region. Part of Greater Santiago, it is bordered by the communes of Santiago to the west, Recoleta to the northwest, Las Condes and Vitacura to the northeast, La Reina to the east, and Ñuñoa to the south. It belongs to the Northeastern zone of Santiago de Chile. Providencia is home to a large upper middle to upper-class population and it holds the region's highest percentage of population over 60 (22%). It contains many high-rise apartment buildings as well as a significant portion of Santiago's commerce. A taxi, also known as a taxicab or simply a cab, is a type of vehicle for hire with a driver, used by a single passenger or small group of passengers, often for a non-shared ride. Quirihue () is a Chilean city in Quirihue, Itata Province, Ñuble Region. It is located about 72 kilometers northwest of Chillán and 410 km southwest of Santiago. Quilaco
Quilaco is a Chilean town and commune located in the Bío Bío Province, Bío Bío Region. The commune spans an area of . History ''Quilaco'' has two accepted meanings: "Three waters" or " Quila in the water". The town has its roots in the Mapuche and Spanish races, as produced with the arrival of Franciscan missionaries in the 18th century. The town was founded 13 December 1760 when friar Juan Matud created the mission named "Purest Conception of Quilaco" (''“Purísima Concepción de Quilaco''"). Diego de Almagro () is a Chilean city and commune in Chañaral Province, Atacama Region. The commune has an area of . The area is named after Diego de Almagro. Until 1977, the city was named ''Pueblo Hundido'' ("Sunk Town"). Freire / Freyre is a word used in the Portuguese and Galician languages to define the occupational name for a friar, or a nickname for a pious person or someone employed at a monastery. The word is derived from Latin ''frater'', which means brother.
