Veer Kunwar Singh University was established on 22 October 1992 with its headquarters at Arrah, under the ''Bihar University Act 1976'' s amendment Act 9 of 1992 It is named after Kunwar Singh, the well-known national hero and distinguished freedom fighter of 1857. It is in the list of recognized universities under section 2(f) of the ''U.G.C. Act''. All of its 17 constituent colleges and one affiliated college receive financial assistance from U.G.C. by virtue of being constituent/affiliated colleges of the erstwhile Magadh University in Bodh-Gaya, Bihar. Kaimur District
Kaimur district is one of the 38 districts of Bihar, India. The district headquarters are at Bhabua. Before 1991, it was part of Rohtas District. Till 1764 the region (Kaimur district) was a part of Ghazipur District and was a part of Kamsaar Raj and later it was a part of Chainpur Estate till 1837. Bihiya
Behea or Bihiya is a nagar panchayat town and Community development block, Block in Bhojpur district, Bihar, Bhojpur district in the Indian state of Bihar. The Behea block comprises 76 rural villages, along with the town of Bihiya itself and 22 uninhabited villages. As of 2011, the population of the Behea block was 1,51,722 of whom 26,707 lived in the town of Behea itself. History A branch of the Harihobans, Harihoban Rajputs once ruled Bihiya. Arrah
Arrah (also transliterated as Ara) is a city and a municipal corporation in Bhojpur district (formerly known as Shahabad district) in the Indian state of Bihar. It is the headquarters of Bhojpur district, located near the confluence of the Ganges and Sone rivers, some from Danapur and from Patna. Typonym According to a Jain inscription found at Masarh village near the town, Arrah is mentioned there as ''Aramnagar'' ( transl. City of Aramas). That "Aramnagar" later become "Arrah".
