''Vavilovia formosa'' is a species of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceae. It belongs to the subfamily Faboideae. It is the only member of the genus ''Vavilovia''. It was named after the Russian geneticist, economic botanist, and plant geographer, Nikolai Ivanovich Vavilov.
