Vaughn Gittin, Jr.
Vaughn Gittin Jr. (born September 20, 1980), commonly known as JR, is an American, self-taught, professional drifter from Maryland who competes in Formula Drift in a Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-D sponsored by Monster Energy, Nitto Tire, and Ford Performance. One of drifting's most iconic figures, Gittin won the Formula Drift Championship in 2010 and 2020, and competes alongside teammate Chelsea DeNofa. Additionally, Gittin competes in the Ultra4 Racing series in his 4400 Class Ford Bronco and is the creator of RTR Vehicles, which is his vision for the Mustang, F-150, Ranger and other one of a kind Fords. Board track racing was a type of motorsport popular in the United States during the 1910s and 1920s. Competition was conducted on circular or oval race courses with surfaces composed of wooden planks. This type of track was first used for motorcycle competition, wherein they were called ''motordromes'', before being adapted for use by various different types of racing cars. The majority of the American national championship races were contested at such venues during the 1920s. Board tracks proliferated in part because they were inexpensive to construct, but they lacked durability and required a great deal of maintenance to remain usable. Auto Clearing Motor Speedway
Sutherland Automotive Speedway (formerly Wyant Group Raceway and Auto Clearing Motor Speedway) is a paved oval auto racing facility just north of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. It is owned and operated by the Saskatoon Stock Car Racing Association Ltd. (SSCRA). SSCRA was formed in 1954 and initially operated out of the 8th Street Racing Oval, The Motordrome, near what is now McKercher Drive and Moss Avenue in Saskatoon. The Motordrome's last year of operation was 1969, after which it was removed to make way for residential development. The SSCRA ran out of the Exhibition grounds grandstand in 1970, but area residents complained about the noise, dust and traffic. Edmonton International Raceway is a , paved oval auto racing facility, located outside Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada, approximately south of Edmonton. Circuit ICAR
The International Center of Advanced Racing (Circuit ICAR) is a multi-track facility located on the former runways at Montréal–Mirabel International Airport, in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada north of Montreal. The facility features a 2.125-mile (3.4 km), 16-turn road course, a 0.4 mile oval, a quarter-mile (0.4 km) drag strip, two kart tracks, a driftpark and an offroad course. The 2014 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season was the eighth season of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, which took place in the summer of 2014. The season consisted of 11 races at 10 different venues, of which 7 were held on ovals. It began with the Pinty's presents the Clarington 200 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on May 18 and ended with the Pinty's 250 at Kawartha Speedway on September 20. 2010 Formula D Season
The 2010 Formula D season (officially titled Formula Drift Pro Championship) was the seventh season for the Formula D series. The series began on April 10 on the streets of Long Beach and concluded on October 9 at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale after seven events. With two victories at Long Beach and Infineon Raceway, Vaughn Gittin took his first Formula D title by 63.5 points, taking the first non-Nissan championship since 2006. Tanner Foust's Scion tC finished second in the championship, having taken victories at Evergreen Speedway and Irwindale, but Gittin's consistent finishing gave him the advantage over Foust.
