Vaughan Secondary School
Hodan Nalayeh Secondary School, formerly Vaughan Secondary School, is a Public school (government funded), public High school (North America), secondary school in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. It opened in 1989 by the York Region Board of Education and is currently overseen by the York Region District School Board. The school was originally named after the City of Vaughan, which was named after Benjamin Vaughan. After complaints by Black people, black members of the community that Benjamin Vaughan had associations with slavery, the York Region District School Board renamed this school in honor of Hodan Nalayeh, a Somali-Canadian journalist and Vaughan resident. Thornhill is a suburban district in the Regional Municipality of York in Ontario, Canada, split between the City of Vaughan (its western portion) and the City of Markham (its eastern portion), with Yonge Street forming the municipal boundary. The Indiana Pacers are an American professional basketball team based in Indianapolis. Andrew William Nembhard (born January 16, 2000) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). A portable classroom (also known as a demountable or relocatable classroom, portables, bungalows), is a type of portable building installed at a school to temporarily and quickly provide additional classroom space where there is a shortage of capacity.
