Vasile Simionaș
Vasile Simionaș (born 16 November 1950) is a former Romanian professional football manager and football player. He usually played as a midfielder. Club career In April 1968, at the age of seventeen, Simionaș made his Divizia A debut for Dinamo Bacău by coming in for the last 20 minutes in a match against Progresul București. A year later he moved to Politehnica Iași. Simionaș is widely considered to be the most important player in the history of Politehnica Iași, having amassed 359 Divizia A games for them over a fifteen-year period. He was part of the golden team of Politehnica and together with Mihai Romilă and Gabriel Simionov made one of the memorable midfield lines of the Romanian league. Asociația Club Sportiv Municipal Politehnica Iași (), commonly known as Politehnica Iași or simply Poli Iași, is a Romanian professional Association football, football Club (organization), club based in the city of Iași, Iași County, which plays in the Liga II. The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Mihai Romilă (1 October 1950 – 27 June 2020) was a Romanian football midfielder. International career Mihai Romilă played 18 matches at international level for Romania, including appearances at Euro 1976 and 1980 qualifiers and at the World Cup 1978 qualifiers. He scored one goal from a penalty kick in a friendly which ended with a 2–1 loss against Greece. Romilă also played one game for Romania's Olympic team in a 1–0 victory against France at the 1976 Summer Olympics qualifiers. The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table.
