Vasile Botnaru
Vasile Botnaru (born 12 January 1957, Cinişeuţi) is a journalist from the Republic of Moldova. He is the head of Radio Free Europe Chişinău. Biography Vasile Botnaru graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University. He has worked as photo reporter, secretary of the editorial board, and political commentator. Together with two colleagues, he founded the Basa Press News Agency in November 1992. He has contributed to the import of the Pro TV Television to Chişinău and is a correspondent for Associated Press. BASA-press was a newsagency from the Republic of Moldova. Founded in November 1992, Moldova's oldest independent newsagency ceased its activity in December 2009. History BASA press was founded by a group of five journalists (including Vasile Botnaru) in Chişinău on 5 November 1992. The newsagency was the first independent news agency in the Republic of Moldova. Infotag was the second one, operating officially since 1 December 1993.
