Vasile Ardeleanu
Vasile Maricel Ardeleanu (born 5 February 1974) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a centre back for clubs such as FCM Bacău, Acord Focșani, FC Onești or FC Vaslui. Career Ardeleanu played almost all his career for FCM Bacău, being one of the perspective players of the Moldavian club. In 1999 Ardeleanu career took a negative turn after a horror foul made by Marius Lăcătuș in the 13th minute of a match between Steaua București and FCM Bacău. Doctors' diagnosis was ''double transverse fracture of tibia and fibula, plus rupture of ligaments'' and although the end of his career was anticipated, Ardeleanu was back on the pitch one year later, playing for FC Onești, on loan from FCM Bacău. Bacău
Bacău ( , , ; hu, Bákó; la, Bacovia) is the main city in Bacău County, Romania. At the 2016 national estimation it had a population of 196,883, making it the 12th largest city in Romania. The city is situated in the historical region of Moldavia, at the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, and on the Bistrița River (which meets the Siret River about to the south of Bacău). The Cupa Ligii ( en, League Cup) was Romania's secondary club football tournament. Like the Cupa României, it was played on a knockout (single elimination) basis. History It is unclear when the competition was first created, as there are no official recordings. It probably started sometime after 1990, but there may already have been an edition as early as 1978. Cupa Ligii was meant to shorten the break between the end of the league season and the start of a major international competition.
