Vasfije Krasniqi Goodman is a Kosovo Albanian activist, a politician serving in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, and a survivor of rape. Life and career Sexual assault and Kosovo War At the time of the Kosovo War, Krasniqi was living with her family in the small village of Stanoci i Ulet in Vushtrri. On April 14, 1999, when Krasniqi was sixteen years old, a Serbian officer arrived at their house and demanded to know where Krasniqi's father and brother were. Her mother told the officer that they were in Germany, but the officer did not believe her. He entered the house and took Krasniqi, telling her that he was taking her to the police station to give a statement, however, the officer took her to the village of Babimoc, which was populated primarily by Serbs, and raped her. Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (, en, Self-determination Movement; LVV) is a centre-left to left-wing political party in Kosovo. It is orientated towards principles of social democracy, populism, and Albanian nationalism. Parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo on 14 February 2021. The results were a landslide victory for Vetëvendosje led by Albin Kurti and its coalition partner, Vjosa Osmani, former speaker of the parliament of Kosovo. Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu (born 17 May 1982) is a Kosovar Albanian jurist and politician serving as the 5th and current President of Kosovo since 4 April 2021. Born in former Yugoslavia and raised in the city then known as Titova Mitrovica, today the city of Mitrovica, Osmani became a political activist and studied law at the University of Pristina and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
