''Vartha Bharati'' ( kn, ವಾರ್ತಾ ಭಾರತಿ) also spelled as ''Vartha Bharathi'' is a prominent Kannada daily News paper (ಕನ್ನಡ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆ) published simultaneously from Bangalore , Mangalore and Shimoga district, Shimoga. It was launched in August 2003. It is one of only 9 State level Kannada Daily newspapers of Karnataka, as recognized by the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka. Its main focus was to provide voice and due representation to the deprived and marginalised sections of the society. Jnanpith Award, Janapith and Padma Bhushan awardee U.R.Anantha Murthy, Dr.U.R.Anantha Murthy was a great admirer and a regular contributor to this newspaper. Abdussalam Puthige is the Editor-in-Chief of '' Varthabharathi'', a Kannada daily Newspaper, published from Mangalore the coastal city of Karnataka and Bangalore, the state capital. Siddaramaiah (born 3 August 1947), also referred to by his nickname Siddu, Siddaramaiah served as Chief Minister of Karnataka from 13 May 2013 to 17 May 2018 and currently serving as the leader of the opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly since 9 December 2019. Mahesh Bhatt (born 20 September 1948) is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter known for his works in Hindi cinema.
