Vanessa Marie Semrow
Vanessa Marie Semrow (born November 13, 1984) is an American beauty queen who won Miss Teen USA 2002. Personal life Semrow was born as Vanessa Marie Semrow in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, and she is of both American and Thai descent; her mother is Thai, while her father is American. Pageantry Semrow won the Miss Wisconsin Teen USA title on October 15, 2001, in a pageant paying tribute to the events of September 11 that year. In August 2002, she represented Wisconsin in the Miss Teen USA 2002 pageant. As Miss Teen USA, Semrow represented the Miss Universe Organization and lived in a Trump apartment in New York City, the first Miss Teen USA titleholder to live there full-time. During her reign, Semrow traveled to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia on a USO tour, raised money for charities, and attended celebrity events. Miss Wisconsin Teen USA
The Miss Wisconsin Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Wisconsin in the Miss Teen USA pageant. Wisconsin has placed at Miss Teen-USA on six occasions. The first placement was in 1984, when Adrianne Hazelwood made the ten semi-finalists, and then endured an eighteen-year dry spell until Vanessa Semrow won the Miss Teen USA crown in 2002. Then lastly with two consecutive semi-final placements with Katherine (Kate) Patrice Redeker (2013) and Patience Ann Vallier (2014), followed by Shreya Gundelly in 2021 and her sister Sage Gundelly in 2022. Five Wisconsin teen titleholders have competed at Miss USA, (four as Miss Wisconsin-USA in 1995, 2014, 2010, and 2016; and one as Miss Connecticut USA in 1985). Miss Teen USA is a beauty pageant formerly run, since 1983, by the Miss Universe Organization for girls aged 14–19. Unlike its sister pageants Miss Universe, which currently broadcasts on Fox and Miss USA, this pageant is webcast on the Miss Teen USA website and simulcast on mobile devices and video game consoles. The Miss Universe Organization previously operated Miss Teen USA, as well as Miss USA, until 2020 when the rights to produce both pageants were licensed to Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart. The United Service Organizations Inc. (USO) is an American nonprofit-charitable corporation that provides live entertainment, such as comedians, actors and musicians, social facilities, and other programs to members of the United States Armed Forces and their families.
