Vanessa Bernauer
Vanessa Bernauer (born 23 March 1988) is a Swiss football midfielder, currently playing for Roma in Serie A. She previously played for VfL Wolfsburg and BV Cloppenburg of the Frauen Bundesliga, FC Zürich in Switzerland's Nationalliga A and Levante UD in Spain's Primera División. Club career In Germany, Bernauer caught the attention of several clubs around the Bundesliga by scoring a 45-yard goal for Cloppenburg against Munich. Her performances with Cloppenburg would earn the admiration of major club Wolfsburg, who signed Bernauer in 2014. At Wolfsburg, Bernauer would go on to win one league title and three German cups. In Europe, Bernauer would reach two Champions League finals and one semi-final during her stay with the club. The 2016 Champions League final saw Bernauer substituted in the 73rd minute, meaning she missed out on the chance to take a penalty in Wolfsburg's eventual shootout defeat to Lyon. The Frauen-Bundesliga (German for ''Women's Federal League''), currently known as the FLYERALARM Frauen-Bundesliga for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of league competition for women's association football in Germany. In 1990 the German Football Association (DFB) created the German Women's Bundesliga, based on the model of the men's Bundesliga. It was first played with north and south divisions, but in 1997 the groups were merged to form a uniform league. The Sport Mundi Tournament is a Spanish pre-season women's football invitational charitable tournament held every August in Irun and Hondarribia since 2005. It is contested by four teams each year, usually including regional powerhouses Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad. Pyrénées International Women's Cup
The Pyrénées International Women's Cup, also known previously as Femení Cup and International Women's Cup, was an annual friendly women's football competition for charitable purposes held between 2006 and 2012. The IWC's first four editions were carried out in Catalonia, Spain with Sitges serving as host in 2006 and 2007, Salou in 2008 and 2009, and Tarragona in 2010. The tournament was discontinued in 2011, but a last edition was held the following year in Andorra. The 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup was the seventh FIFA Women's World Cup, the quadrennial international soccer championship contested by the women's national teams of the member associations of FIFA.
